  • Lets put things into perspective..... Inu was not wanted by the club... They didn't even open negotiations with him.

Mateo while wanted was way down the food chain... Hayne, Morts came first. If the eels were hell bent on keeping Mateo they wouldn't have spent big $$ on Poore.

I have no idea who the two superstars are that your are referring to... did the Warriors sign Hayne and Fui :)
    • You dont think this is going to affect hayne, the fact that good friend inu who he played with since the age of 14 is leaving.
Money cant replace good friendships. hopefully hes not too bothered by it.
And please remind me what morts has done?

Time will tell but I dont think the club made good decisions here
  • rules are rules , greed is greed . to many players demand too much money thats the issue , hayne since getting contract has not performed the same ?
  • Players come and go, doesn't bother me.
  • I think if Mortimer doesn't sign on with us again, after his next contract expires. Then the current administration will have alot to answer for.

... such as why they let two of our best young players go, who absolutely bleed blue and gold, to sign a kid whose ability and loyalty is still untested.

Hopefully the Warriors treat these boys alot better than our club did.
  • I never justified the sigining of Morts. I was just stating facts. My priorities all along would have been Hayne then Mateo.

I was simply commenting on the opening post which blames Gallop. The eels have made some strategic decisons here. It's not all salary cap.

I persoanlly would not have doe things like this, but there is no way I would have played Robson at 7 last year and Lowrie at 13.... or sacked Finsh mid season. Yet DA did and got the team to the GF. My guess is he has a long term plan and I trust him.
