This woman implied that she was talking about a young victim of child abuse. She used & belittled the subject of child abuse to get people's attention - to get people looking at her.
Imagine the hurt this selfish and immature behavior would cause a victim of child abuse or thier parents and family.

How is describing abuse belittling people who have been abused?
I only ask because A few months back I had a vegan client, so I asked the general questions like how do you find the time, when did you become vegan and why?
Her reply was something along the lines of she had a long history of abuse and didn't want another being to be abused for her pleasure.
And what exactly does eating meat in a diner have to do with child abuse?
Why is it ok to trick people eating meat in a diner to think that they are being spoken to by an emotionally ruined parent/guardian of an abused minor?
