This match has showed us the way forward

Our attack in the second half is how we must play our football. That game was ours tonight we only lacked polish. Giving the ball some air and playing wide of the ruck is how we must play. This is our football and we have to own it. Moses will facilitate a more expansive game and if we can win a few games until we get Norms back this side can be a dangerous football side. I hope that's woken us up.Two passes wide of the ruck for forward hit ups with French sniffing around in support up the middle. Offloads and second phase play will not only improve the attack but our tired defence.Moses has a quality kicking game albeit needs a little refining and the combinations he'll form with French and Semi will define our season.

  • agree semi was extremely dangerous two passes wide of the ruck, when norman is back we put our BEST 17 on, we will be a good team if we attack in this way

  • Sure and unicorns are real this game shows what most should know we are not good enough and will comtinue to be a team that places berween 9th and 12th
    • Watch again, the pressure we applied with ball in hand was the best I've seen from us in years. Credit to Canberra their scramble defence got them home. We had them shot both sides of the ruck. The difference was they capitalised on everyone of their opportunitys where we bombed a couple of meat pies.
    • Nothing in this season has given me any reason to think we can make the 8. When we have cpme up against good packs we can't compete our halves have been a issue for so long so to fix that we sign moses the biggest speed hump in the comp.

I have now lost confidence in the team ill still support them and hope for the best but expect the worst
  • One of the rare occassion where i am pleased with the performance despite the loss.

Moses clearly does not  our team yet  and still had a passable performance.. only a couple more weeks (an a couple more easier opponents) and we should be expecting some good wins

    • Same here, it's about as pleased as I could be after a loss.
  • this blog should be shown to  BA. Seeing our inability to punch through the middle, our impressive second rowers in Mau, and tep, and lethal backs in semi and jennings, B should be structuring our attack so we target the edges, mau made so many metres running on the edges. With the lack of go forward in the middle, almost no offload from the front rowers we need to start targeting the edges

  • Mste i drive from the central coast to sydney every week to see tge boys ive been folliwing them since i was a boy my dad my son are eels fans i know a thing or 2 about supporting this team.
If you step back and compare our whole season to other teams you will see we are off the pace with the top team's i wish it wasn't true but it is i know this uet i will still travel down next week
  • We made good ground up the middle early on but the Raiders made more and won the middle, we then got on top on the edges but lacked polish and composure to take full advantage of our ascendancy. the game was lost in the first 15 and last 20. If Corey Norman played tonight we win.

  • We had some big improvements tonight.  We had more ball (53%), we completed our sets very high (highest this year at 86%).  What was poor tonight was our defence with 45 missed tackles, 13 more then the Raiders.  Losing Brown after 21 minutes hurt us a massive amount.  A lot of positives tonight, but having our best player in Norman out and most likely our second best player in Brown is going to hurt us big time.
