Dyldam Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur had a personalised message for the Blue and Gold Army ahead of the start of the 2017 season.

Sent to Members earlier today in a Members first exclusive, see what Brad had to say...

Dear Blue and Gold Army,

This has been a challenging season for our team and our club, on and off the field.

It’s also been one where I have been proud, each week, of the commitment that our football team has shown, their resilience and focus.

The opportunity was there more than once to find excuses, and instead this group continued to turn up for each other, week in and week out.

There is no group of men I would rather be coaching.

This season more than 23,000 Members joined the Eels, a record in the club’s history. The support that you give us at games is a huge boost to your team when the boys run out onto the field, and the support you’ve given us this year in difficult circumstances has been incredible.

As we look ahead to 2017 and prepare for another gruelling pre-season, our goal is to play with pride and passion in the jersey every week.

We want to be a team that plays for the full 80 minutes. A team that, when you watch a game, you know exactly what sort of effort you’ll get from your team.

Thank you for backing us, I hope you will be there to support us again in 2017.

Dear Brad

As I am on auto rollover I guess I will be joining again until I die ...probably after as well.

Hopefully, another 30 years or so.

Make sure I see at least another premiership before I go, OK!
