This game was there to be taken at Half time by either side.

I have read some shit on here tonight,  amongst them that Dyllan Brown made no difference and Will complemented him so much better. If Dyllan had played I suspect Canberra would not have scored a try. With due respect to Will, Dyllan is the best defensive back in the Parra side and his cover defence would have stopped and cleaned up the breaks that were made against us, specifically the first half.

There was no real combination between Will and Moses. The difference was Moses had time and space to do what he he is always capable of.  Who makes the time and space. The opposition made this for his game, it  was there for the taking by either team at half time  12/10 remember.. Canberra were atrocious ,much worse than we were against Saints. For Pricky to say what he said about individuals in his side at the pressor really brought this home.

Camberra did us a hell of favour by playing us into form , giving us a win we didn't expect (congrats to Brett Allen,  he read how bad Canberra are). Personally I gave them no chance of winning in Canberra.

Our fickle fans are now fawning over Mitch because he had such a fantastic game, shame is they don't understand when he doesn't.

Don't get me wrong I am delighted with everything about the result, and I am happy to get carried away with a performance that will give us confidence and the way it will place us on the table, no one will be watching us like they would have been if we won last week.

Onwards and upwards but for those who call themselves realists, now they have something to be realists about.

  • A few of us fickle fans picked a Eels win. Again see Will is no DB, he still went OK for a drop in. No doubt Deb playing in Darwin.

    • No arguments there Graham and I don't want to be that critical of Will, he did everything asked of him. I was horrified enough to see Dunster in the 21 and someone even talking about him playing in the centres so Nikure could go back to the edge. Not a bad Idea in itself (not Dunster though) but we need a centre that is going to do a better job than Nikure, which woud be bloody hard for anyone at the moment, he was great tonight.

PS from memory you wanted to drop Moses and Brown last week ??

      • Well I think I said MM needs to improve his ball game, or the coach needs to drop him. He gets a breather for his awesome effort tonite.

Still not sold on DB, apparently he will be hitting his  straps in 5 years. As stated Poppa I think Dylan is a good player, just not in the 6, didn't you want him in the 9. Yep you did.

        • I did not want him in the nine, I want him in the side..... the nine would not worry me....but not a choice or necessary option at the moment or forseeable future. Don't put words in my mouth Graeme, I have enough problems doing it myself LOL

          • Year certainly in the top 13. My bad, just thought you said last year, give him a go in the 9.

  • What a load of virtue signalling poppa, like you do after every game.

Its you attacking eels fans once again.

    Give yourself an uppercut.

    • Opinions Snake, you don't mind giving them, trying taking a few for a change!

  • I said earlier that maybe Moses is better without Brown. That's not to say we don't Brown I think this year it's been a obvious ploy to get Brown more involved in the ball playing when maybe what works better is for him to be 2nd fiddle and control his edge let Mitch and Gutho do what they do.

What we saw from Mitch today was outstanding and needs to happen every week

    • You know, I don't see any evidence of Brown trying to be a ball player in the sense of running the game. Everyone wants to be critical that he doesn't have those skils with the perception that he should have. I think you will find they will come with time and experience.

      • Thats true but it's been stated he is on the opposite side so it can improve his kicking. He has kicked alot more this year.

Having Mitch busy and playing both sides is what's best for us having Dylan play what's in front of him and having him look after his edge that is what's best for our team.

Anyway let's just enjoy that win and celebrate how good Ice Pappi is playing

Its likely BA is only the start, but, there is no way on earth that replacing BA with Bennett wouldn't instantly change our trajectory.
