In my opinion tonight's game is so important for a top 8 finish. My calculations say 34 points will be needed for 8th place. Currently the Eels have 22 points and a bye in hand. This means they must win at least 5 of their remaining 8 games. These 8 games include away games to the Broncos, Storm, Cowboys and Panthers.

Definitely an important game with a few tough ones ahead.
But Slip I don't think it will be as high as 34 points needed.
Such an even comp this year except for the bottom 2, I'm seeing 30 points in my calculations.
Past years have always been around the 28 - 30 point range, and this year is more even than others.
Last year the 8th spot was 28 points, the year before was only 22 points (definitely odd)
We finished on 34 points last year and ended up 4th.
After looking at the Warriors' remaining games, a win for them tonight will help them in the top 4 race. The Warriors have games in New Zealand against the Sharks, Raiders, Sea Eagles, and Dragons (all winnable), away games against the Titans, Tigers, and Dolphins (all winnable), and a bye. A win tonight puts them on 24 points. They will finish on 40 points if they win all remaining games. I think 37 points will get them a top 4 finish. I am a betting man and the $4.50 on offer now looks a good bet to me. The Cowboys at $15 for a top 4 finish also looks over the odds. I might have something on the Cowboys if they get through Origin 3. The Cowboys finishing position could come down to their last game of the season........... Away to the Panthers.
I've done the ladder predictor and I have us finishing on 4th on 36 points. I've accounted for losses to the Cowboys (away) & the Panthers (away). The big test for us will be rounds 21-22, back to back road games against the Cows & Storm. We need to at least split those. I've allowed for a round 26 loss at Penrith, but we need to beat the Titans, Roosters, Dragons & Broncos.
So you have the Eels winning tonight? Your comment earlier was, "This game is no more important than any other. They are all worth 2 points". Now go back to the ladder predictor and see what happens if you have the Eels losing tonight's game.
You coukd say that about any game. But even if I did have us losing, I would still have us on 32 points and probably 5th on F/A.
So after you did the predictor who made the top 4 and who was 5th through 8th? Also who was 9th and 10th and on what points?
Correction I have us in 4th on 36, the Raiders in 5th on 36, the Storm in 6th, the Broncos in 7th, the Sharks in 8th all on 34 points. The Cowboys the unlucky 9th on 32. The Titans in 10th on 28.
Lol Brett same, but had us losing to Melbourne and Penrith, but we got 3rd.
I know doing the ladder predictor is only a guide/guess at the stage, and that's what I'm going from. After doing my ladder predictor, I had the Broncos finishing 7th and the Sharks 8th on 34 points. The Eels I have finishing with 32 points in 9th position. This is with the Warriors winning tonight's game.
Therefore, as the title states.......... THIS GAME IS CRUCIAL!
This game is no more important than any other. They are all worth 2 points
