This Friday, Sept 16. Our most important game in decades.

This is it. Apart from 2001 all the other times we've made the finals since, was on the back of some freaky stuff no one was expecting.

With players leaving, no stars coming next year, and the 'window' closing   it really feels this is a much bigger game for us. We need to win. Time to make history !!

  • I don't agree the window shuts this year. If Hodgson stays fit (huge if), I think he'll make our team better. I also think Papali'i will stay and N Brown will go. Nuikore is a good player, but only when he wants to be. We were successful even though he was average for the first 2/3rds of the season. Kaufusi is a dime a dozen and Ray Stone was a little overrated due to a couple of big performances where we all fell in love with him. It's easy to forget a heap of his performances where he plodded. He never gave good service from dummy either.

I do agree it's a big game though. I've been a huge fan of BA's and will be forever grateful for his service to the club. But if we lose this game, I want change immediately. Flannagan or Hasler.

  • Bigger than biggy big

    • Ben-Hur's big brother big.

  • The window definitely closes a fair bit next year.

We lose a fair bit of grunt up front and there isn't much coming our way.

Hodgson was a complete waste of money. To old and injury riddled. People complain about the lack of speed out of dummy half now, wait until we have a 33 year old hooker with major ACL issues. The only reason I can see that BA wanted Hodgson is he knows he will miss most of the season and he can fast track another one of his kids into the 1st grade squad.

  • It seems most of the media have the Raiders pencilled in as winning this one. Consistency for the Eels has been a problem all year so who knows. I'm sure the drums must beat very loud if we go out in straight sets AGAIN.

The bench makes zero sense once again, and even the dopes on NRL 360 have admitted that. So will take a big effort from the lemon that's already been squeezed pretty hard. Even if we get through, how will we back up against the Cowboys in Townsville. Seems bleak!

  • It won't be a massive disappointment if we lose tommorrow night.a few prominent players could be signing next year, and the process of a 5 year plan

    • Do you have a bad feeling about this one Shawn?.
