This blog is not about a rumour

this blog is  about favourite grounds besides Parra stadium or favourite moent at an away ground. I'm not going to include finals matches because the GF wins or the final against Canterbury would be a standout.

Mine would be Brookvale Oval when it was overrun by Eels supporters in late 70s (not sure of the year - perhaps 86).

There were something like 26 supporter buses that travelled from the Leagues Club to Brookvale that day. After the game it was quite a convoy and the parra chant around the ground as the Eels went on to victory was still ringing in my ears as the convoy wound its way away from Brookie.

Leichardt is also a good suburban ground for atmosphere but a bastard to get out of. And those Balmain fans do not stop screaming for offside penalties at any stage during the day.

  • My most recent 1 would have to be last year when we beat the tigers at the sfs.. It was an electric atmosphere and really did prove to me that us parra fans do travel..I think we out numbered the tigers supporters!!
  • i was there at the sfs game, mad atmosphere
  • same here ahh what great memories what a win that was! mine would have to be the prelim last year when we beat the dogs and mortsy got the winning try i literally went off and almost jumped off the chair i was standing on from the excitement
  • I tell you what was a weird atmosphere - Belmore Oval in the early 80's when we were playing the Dogs and it was our 'home' game. The train rattling by in the background, the mad supporters from both teams, 'James Hardie, we're with you' blasting in the background from the ground sound system. Awesome to watch three grades of football, seeing the kids and stalwarts playing and sometimes backing up for firsts. Good, tough footy.
  • We need a time machine. I'm going back to '76 and I'm not coming back

  • Toyota Stadium/Shark Park/Endeavour Field for me, of course....You always feel close to the action, it has plenty of bars, with a quick Pure Blonde can stand and still has a family hill. What more could one want (besides a few more supporters turning up)?
  • Leichhardt for a club game and Suncorp (Lang Park) for SOO.
I haven't been to ANY of the newer grounds so can't compare them.

Of course "rumour has it" that the new Storm Stadium will have atmosphere for a while.
  • OH YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I didn't want to list ALL of the names our field has gone under, michael...I do have a life you know....hahaha
  • That's not very nice, poweris...
