  • We don't have the defence especially on the edges with our outside backs . It's as simple as that.

  • With our current squad I see next year going the same way as this year.

    Maybe even a little worse.

We are short a quality winger, centre and hooker.

  • I would say there's a huge gap between the attitude of those 2 teams in defence weekly and the rest .. and our defence isn't good enough.
All this talk about X factor and what not , Crichton is probably Penriths most X Factor player but they win games defensively.  Most of their points come through continued pressure and frustrating their opponents and the X factor of Crichton is the icing on the cake . Cleary is the most robotic 7 since Cronk but he can strangle the life out of teams.

If we came into next season with a goal of conceding 18 or less a game we have more this enough players capable of producing 3 try's. Penrith concede 13 ppg , Brisbane  17ppg . Us 24ppg. It puts too much pressure on our creative guys to come up with those extra points and isn't close to good enough.

  • The Eels might put in a top performance here and there, but over the entire season they won't get close to them. It'll be same 'ol same 'ol: one excellent performance a month followed by 3 crap performances.

  • We are a club going backwards and that's a fact.
We are struggling to recruit , even borderline NRL players, who just don't find the Eels an attractive home.
We don't supply players to the representative teams.
The elite players we do have are aging except for perhaps, Dylan Brown who may or may not have some semblance of stability moving forward.
Quite simply, there is an air of incompetence that permeates right through the club from marketing to management to fan engagement and through to the NRLW side.
We play a grinding boring unimaginative brand of football that might win us a few games but is like watching paint dry, matched with a coach that speaks in mono syllables and has the game plan to match.
Damn we need a breath of fresh air in the place from somewhere.

      • Are we supposed to endlessly praise BA? We came 10th. No one should be happy with that.

BA has showed his stripes. We all know what he delivers, so expect more of the same next year.

        • "endlessly praise BA?"

Really, I have never heard you with any praise, are you really that blind to your own idiosynchrises?...... do you have children or a wife or anybody you feel encouraged enough too praise?....... you must have lived a horrid life of personal criticism. very sad actually.

PS Are we supposed? No one needs to be happy with where we finished, you can feel how ever you want, but it won't make you feel any better. just understand that and you can move forward. Either that or see a priest! Fong will know a good one!

          • I give praise where it's due, mofo. Just keep strokin' BA's member and we'll always get what we've already got, fool.

              • Go through it, shitbreak. I praise when it's warranted  and criticise when it's warranted.

                    • Go away BA, mate I do love a well constructed statement. Straight  to the point, positive . Top class.
