Theory behind DWZ interest

So the rumour is circuling that Parramatta are interested in the services of Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, at 23 years of age and 105 NRL games he's well and truely experienced and talented. Frustrated at Penrith with form and coaching he wants out and has expressed heavy interest in being a fullback.

Which brings this to Parramatta, having a need, although not that big of a need but still a need nonetheless, at centre. Both centres old and off contract, makes sense for DWZ to be placed at centre. And if Gutherson re-signs then that makes a decent backline even better.

Now where i see this is where is where i see the current Gutherson situation with his contract. I've believed, and could be wrong, that all along the issue with re-signing was not money, was not the length but the main issue being BA, and where he stands. I said from the start if BA signs Gutho signs, which i believe is the same if BA leaves. Which brings me to DWZ, i think myself that Parramatta are heavily stalling with the realisation from Mark O'Neill that he thinks Arthur is too inconsistent and wants his own coach in their, his own hire. Unless we start dominating, BA will be gone and O'Neill wants him gone. With this they know Gutherson will follow, therefore having DWZ in the club leads to an already signed replacement for this inevitable decision.

Now this is a theory im thinking of, i could be wrong, but it makes sense, this is purely to make discussion and see if others agree but i do believe the main issue with Gutho's contract is BA's contract and i stand by that. Do i think BA should be signed, well im currently 60/40 against him now purely on inconsistency's in his coaching and performances.

Then again, who's to say DWZ is signing, this could be all fake news therefore this discussion is pointless but worth thinking about

What's your thoughts, just dont abuse me as im happy to be proven wrong and happy to hear opinions.

  • I think they are looking at him as a potential fullback not centre . I think there is a chance we won’t see Gutherson and Arthur here next year. I’d say it’s 50/50 at this point. If it was anywhere near a certainty that captain and coach were staying I’d say it would have happened by now and it’s going to depend on performances now.

    • Tell you one thing, if it's on performances, Gutherson ain't doing BA any favours.

  • He’d be an idiot to come to this pisss weak club.

    • Where would Gutho go, i hope BA and Gutho are gone, take Taka and Moses with them.

  • i agree with you. this is the problem, i still see value in gutho he is a great player, and a great role model to younger players but at the same time i cant hanlde BA and him not holding anyone accountable. if BA goes so does gutho as you stated, but imo i dont see DWZ as a replacemnt for gutho, personally i think if gutho leaves we will he will leave a bigger hole then expected. just my opinion

    • What’s with you guys thinking BA and Gutho are leaving together hahaha are they father and son? There’s no room for both of them at another club fullstop gutho can’t ride and die by him

  • All good business leaders prepare for a variety of scenarios. You always need a plan B.

With 19 players off contract, I'd imagine we'd be in talks with with many players in all types of situations. I'd be terribly worried if I didn't hear Parra's name being put forward for a number of players off contract or unhappy at their club.

  • Bring in Gus to help with this bullshit

  • Maybe Penrith are considering french??

  • I put this theory forward hours before you on Saturday--- it's not your theory. I also said yesterday he reported on Fox that he has a contract with Penrith. He wants to help Penrith and improve his own form. He said nothing about dissatisfaction with the coaching at Penrith.
