The true test is yet to come.

We had arguably our win of the season last Friday against one of the "heavyweights" of the competition who were almost at full strength. However, I think the biggest test for us lies in the remaining rounds of the competition. We face a number of bottom eight sides who have been traveling quite poorly. These are must win games for us, and games we should win. In seasons past we have been renoun for winning the unwinable, only to fall short weeks later to underperformers. I think we have grown as a side, and we will win these games. Thoughts?

  • One thing for sure , discipline is and will be the key role for parra's further credentials toward finals footy
  • This weeks game is a danger match. Des Hasler's job is on the line and the Dogs are under fire. We had better not be complacent and need to show the same ferocity as last week.
    • I don't think his job is on the line. He has a few new players coming over next year so they will give him one more season at least no matter what happens this year. If half way through next year the team is still under performing he will be under real pressure..

    • I think what makes it dangerous is the forecasted rain. Brings in the slow grinding forwards game the bulldogs like and makes things harder for our backs

  • We certainly have a favourable draw with all Thursday and Friday night games, and lots of confidence at the moment, we could be anything.
  • If we're to be taken seriously we need to win these games against lower places sides.
    Sharks would win them.
    Roosters would
    Storm would
    Broncos would.
The Eels need to win these games too if we are to be considered worthy of a top 4 position and a genuine contender.
    • Not just win, but really put them to the sword early on
  • Our big test is to play like we did last week consistantly week in week out. There is still imorovement in us and we will need to improve to win finals games. Excited about the next couple of months
  • "Winning is a habit".

When you hit finals you generally need to string a run of wins, and teams who have been inconsistent throughout the year, can't just switch that sustained intensity on when it matters.

That's what I'll be looking for, just the ability to sustain the type of intensity we produced against Brisbane from week-to-week.

  • The Broncos game is the only one that should be a "real test"! I think the team needs to make a big statement in at least one of these games and put 40 points on someone. It's something we haven't done this year and our for and against shows it.

But first and foremost secure the win and then be ruthless just like the Storm did to Manly on the weekend.

"I'm not suggesting throwing Lorenzo or any other young player in there now, they aren't ready, my point is they still won't be ready for a start in 2027 either so are we going to sign another 1 year stop gap 6 for 2027?."

"Thanks KN/ EA. Just checking my gut feeling. Hopefully, he stays & makes good on his potential. I like his upside: footy nous, big body, kicking game, goal-kicker. Ain't many sixes offering all that. He's called by many in RU as a "Sua'ali'i clone…"
