Believe it or not but we’re actually improving.
We were good in the first two rounds but the past three we’ve basically lost the games ourselves through stupid decision making (Offloads when not needed), plain stupidity (Semi today), weak defence on our edges, and errors, so many errors. No its not an excuse and we need to improve on these things obviously. But we are improving.
We’ve got a new spine that has barely played together at all. Gutherson and Norman have only played four NRL games together and only two or three Nines games. With De Gois injured Kaysa is stepping up to play 80 minutes or so every week, he’s never done that in the NRL until this season. French although he played two games completely at fullback last season is still obviously a rookie in the position. Norman is just started to get match fit again you may remember in round one and two when he was completely gassed, and now he’s also got to get used to working with the new spine. It was always going to take time to work out the kinks.
We’ve also got a few new recruits in the team that we now have to work into our system (pre season training can only do so much) Brown, Hoffman, Vave, Matagi and Pritchard in our first grade team. We were spoiled in round one and two by good wins but team cohesion won’t happen overnight.
Kenny Edwards & De Gois have been massive losses and the suspension of Moeroa and today the withdrawal of Moeroa through injury has hurt us. Manu had been playing our of position, Frank has had to play bigger minutes than originally expected of him and Terepo being suspended for the opening rounds has limited our size in the forwards.
Those calling for the coach to be sacked need to pull their heads in and take a long look in the mirror, BA is the best coach we’ve had in years .
I’m as disappointed as you all are but be realistic, the sky isn’t falling yet.

Today was a terrible performance no doubt but we cant go nuts just yet
we wont make the top 8 this year
IM not calling for Brad head this year but next year if we don't make the top 8 in 2018 will I think Hes head need to go
But I think he need help right now I don't know if he got any body helping him with the coaching
The problems with the team are definitely being exaggerated at the moment.
However
Vave should be starting and playing that junior paulo role while nathan brown should be given starting honour and we do definitely miss the grunt and enthusiasm of kenny, tepai and even terepo. Kaysa also needs to be given some support, there is no such thing as an 80 minute hooker anymore and should be aided with cameron king or cody nelson on the bench
Radradra however needs to go, really dont see the value in continually playing him. Hes more concerned with his union payday than scoring tries and running hard. Theres a massive chance the bloke probably wont be playing a full season for us
Tonight was a much improved performance, not great but there is some sign of life in the parramatta of old from rounds 1 and 2
I bet you were screaming his name when he got four tries in one game.
we need to win our next 3 game or we should start to look forward to next year
I'lll scream his name as long hes running hard. Tonight from him was the worst performance from someone wearing the blue and gold since Sandow against the dogs in 2015. Hes been in all sorts the last three weeks and it looks like it will continue to in the near future
I agree with you but it was an off game, I don't think its time to drop him.
Agree Ron,
Our spine is still a work in progress however we have all seen enough from each of French, Gutherson, Norman and even Kaysa that when they do (not if) we will be a force. Bring Tep, Peni, and Kenny into the mix and a more confident spine we have a good footy team.
nice summary Ronald!
I've calmed down now and take your points on board mate - but I still think we should be doing better.
This team can play dumb football like no other at times.
Let's see how they go next week :)
