The game played out exactly how we thought it would against Souths. The exact same script. The same ambush. The same start. The same dominance. The same incompetence. The same dumbness. The same mistakes. So what the fuck have we learnt? What the fuck was our game plan to stop the exact save dominance from Souths? They have the time of their lives playing us. They know to execute the same game plan because we're way too dumb to change ours. Even when it was the most important game of the year for us to make the top 4. Same shit.

Hopefully souths make the top 4 and we might scrape into the 8 so we avoid playing them for as long as possible and if we're lucky someone else knocks them out
Yep, or, let's sit down like a professional team that gets paid a heap of money and avoid walking into the same punch all the time. It's a comedy act. Souths come out with the same act, same punch line and they and their fans just sit back and laugh at us.
Yeah we all knew how that one was going to play out before it even happened, that's the sad part
Cartwright on way too early, should have been Ogden as we were getting bashed in the middle, Jnr looks tired.
Jake was very slow, Cody aimed him up all night, just too slow
Kaufusi mmmm. Marata was ok
if no Moses next week, Guth to 6 Perham/Russell to FB, Dyl to 7 Ogden to start & bring Wiremu to Bench
Mate if no Moses next week it will be exactly the same shit
He'll need to find a scape goat. I'm sure he will bring Simmonsen in for waqa and make our defence on that side even worse. Anything to take the spotlight of the chosen one.
I'm not excusing BA here at all, but I reckon he's asking himself the same question.
Listening to him mid week he was well aware of our record vs Souths. He was well aware of their ability to shift the ball.
One thing he did mention was "we've never played a good game against Souths". Which to me implies that he believes we simply need to play like he knows we can. I think that's true.
Let's start with our middles. They were just awful. Jnr is a shadow of his former self, Matterson was plodding, Reed was passive. RCG was ok in A but just as shit as everyone else in D. Papali'i went missing, Lane was our best forward. The bench were ok for bench players but it's not their job to fix what our highly paid starting 17 couldn't.
Our backs were woeful with the exception of Waqa and Gutho who worked hard covering for the mess of our middles. Brown was absolutely putrid, worst game he's had this season easily. As predicted and spoken about for two years, JA's lateral movement was exposed early and often with Cody Walker going through him twice.
It's between the ears for the Eels and it starts in the middle. They set the tone and the tone was casual. It's not as if the Rabbits middles are world beaters. They just wanted it more.
I'm cranky at myself too. After we got hammered by the Dogs I put a red line through us for the season and I felt relieved. But then some very good wins against Penrith and Manly had me just starting to believe again. What an idiot I was.
This team has plateaued. It hasn't improved 1mm in the past few seasons. BA is cooked.
Our Board have a reasonable and prudent obligation to reassess the Head Coaching position now. Sarantinos has stated categorically that he wants our club to be a consistent Top 4 team. It's highly likely we'll finish 7,8th with absolutely no excuses. So what are you going to do Jim?
All good points there Muttman. Cartwright gave the line speed , until that point the eels on their heels.
Junior need a rest , a week off even 2, this shit about light training workload ain't working - it was the same last year
start Ogden n Reg
with Wiremu Marata Kaufusi Carty
You previously said Cartwright came on too early, disagree, he came off too early .
Junior doesn't need a rest....he is lazy, slow and I would guess unfit.
One on one tackles and being flatfooted is the problem with our middles, don't know what has happened to Papallill, but he ain't bleeding for no one at the moment.
Disagree with your comment on Dyllan Mutts, he has not been able to adjust to JA and whilst JA eased himself last week, he decided to take over this week and all the plays were going to him....Dyllan could not get into the game in the first half and maybe he qualifies as being "putrid in patches" but I think from the time he dropped that early ball the signs were there. Second half Dyllan did play both sides of the ruck and tried bloody hard, Lane and him combined and set out to resurrect us, but again the "deer's were in the headlights.
It is obvious we cannot have a "very ordinary back up half" in the team, we just do not balance....the writing would have been different if Guth was in the halves with say Simmonsson at fullback. We would not be carrying a player which realistically we are doing with Jake.
This team is simply not good enough athletically or mentally and the coach is now "stale" to the point as he showed in his pressor he doesn't know the answers either.....in the first instance with Jake he also shows he doesn't understand the problem..... this is not a happy side! and it will get worse before its better .....who would want to play for us while this is going on.
Admittedly I didn't watch much of the second half. I watched that new Predator movie instead. It was really good.
