The premiership window could be very well over.

ith the upcoming draw being Manly, Panthers and Roosters all coming off byes, it is very plausible that we start the season 0-5.

With the resurgence of Manly and Broncos it’s even more plausible that we unfortunately miss the 8. Yes it’s early days but most years the trend is set by round 6.

Whoever is in charge of player retention and contracts needs to be fed to the wolves. We let a premiership side turn to dust in a single season.

I’m getting 2009 to 2013 vibes again.

  • The premiership window was never really open with Arthur as coach.  We fluked a GF but where never a winning chance.

    • Mr Positive bags

  • We are in a rebuilding stage a little atm. We need a centre or another winger or maybe both if Russell keeps going down eh

We definitely need another good 2nd row partnering lane, I wouldnt mind seeing doorey off the bench playing middle.
Another hooker off the bench, not sure if asi can do that but I don't think Hodgson can handle 80

    1.gutho

    2 sivo

3.wouldn't mind seeing brian Kelly, Patrick Herbert, zack lomax, euan aitken,Tesi niu, all off contract

    5. I think Russell will get this spot long term if he stays on the park but if not or moved to centres we could go after Daniel topou from the roosters who is off contact and reportly looking for a new club with Dominic young signing with the chooks.

    6.brown

    7.moses - if he stays

    8. Paulo

    9.hodgson

    10.rcg

    11.lane

    12. Frizzle for 1 or 2 year contact, curious Siro who Moses has reached out to.

    13. Hopgoat aka hopgood

14.asi/ Yates who's service in nsw cup today was terrible

    15.matto

    16.muchie

17.big Royce hunt looked good today in the game, off contract and not in sharks best 17

    • I think fans are getting fed up and tired of always talking about next year or the 5 year plans that all turn to crap. Brad Arthur has been at the helm for 10 years and yes he's done some positive things but overall it's been a failure if it amounts to no premiership

  • Yeah we're done our shot was last year we have very little chance of doing anything this year I see so many warning signs it's not looking good

  • Eels won't make the 8 if the last 2 rounds are any indication

  • We were a very good roster with just a good coach,  the sharks are a good roster with what seems a very good coach,  that's the difference.  Our captain is nowhere near captain material,  our 6 is missing in action and we didn't replace edge forwards that left after last season. Hopgood, murchie and doored are all middles,  momoisea is a reserve grader at best. We are up shit creek and there is no chance gutho is leading us out of this mess.

I am ready to call this season done,  I just can't see where we dig ourselves out of this mess with BA and gutho as our leaders.

    • I think with our best 17 being picked every week and the correct use of the bench, we can still make it but the issue will be will we have our best 17 available and will BA use the bench correctly.

Chances of both happening this year are less than zero.

      • Hard to argue with that Frank. Our best 17 has a back row of lane, matto, hopgood.  All can play long minutes. That's a decent pack. One that won't leak easy points through the middle like tonight.

No easy answers for the backline. Picking we'll scrape in the 8

          • Yes I don't understand why Arthur is so hell bent on using Waqa at Centre. He seems to go through these cycles of trying to make Waqa at Centre work, realises it doesn't work in attack or defence, then moves him to wing for a bit before restarting the process.
