The Parramatta Panthers.

Watching tonights game, It is mind blowing that we do not have or can replicate the production line of local juniors the Panthers have in their ranks. The second largest junior nursery in the NRL and we have a team full of fossils or "money ball" (Alan Hunt TM) players from other clubs.

Love him or hate him, Gus Gould's years of experience and NRL nouce in all areas is something our club would give it's right arm to have in our current predicament. Instead we have weekend at Bernie(s) walking around the club with a Walmart price gun in hand.

Anthony Griffin is not everybody's cup of tea, but he was first grade coach of the Broncos and well respected by many of their senior players who were not happy when Clint Eastwood shafted him.

What do we have? The father of the year from the Rouse Hill Rhinos and captain coach of the Gerringong Gerbils. A CEO who was responsible for the atrocious new jersey design that was given the green light by 20 snorkel blowing unicorns who stalk the players & coach at training & then branded it with a desperate last ditch grab for a major sponsor because our new "corporate board" came up with a duck egg.

The 2018 Parramatta Eels... sadly, amateur hour at it's best.

  • The panthers are us when we had Brian Smith running the joint.

    • This 100%.

Our Football Department set up rivals Manly for the cheapest and nastiest set up in the NRL.

Our Board and Bernie have been asleep at the wheel. This will take years to rectify but no better time to start than now.

      1) Review best practices of all NRL clubs to establish what exactly is the best structure.

      2) Appoint a Head of Football.

      3) Enact the plan and set up the best Football Department in the NRL.

      4) In a few years time reap the rewards like Penrith are now.

      OR

Do nothing, burn through a conga line of coaches, pay overs for end of career players, die before we even look like winning a Premiership.

      • Bernie has NFI Mutt, he's into reactionary leadership and is behind the 8 ball by his very nature.

I had no idea he was this poor when we signed him up, completely out of touch, his decision to make himself head of footy shows that along with the jersey disaster.

Max is a good bloke but has NFI about footy, thats not his job, his time will come to an end soon and the same factions will be back because they have completely failed to sell their board idea, how can anybody have any faith in a board thats completely silent and we know nothing about?

This clubs headed for more great disappointment and failure, the writings on the wall again..

      • Just keep in mind with everything Mutt has said, that it will take years to turn this around. So if we do go down this line, don't expect a premiership in the first year. Gould has been in his position since 2011. Penrith have played in three finals series in that time and it's included a 15th position finish. So that solution is a long-term solution.

      • well said mutt. how hard could it be.

  • Lol what was bernies line?We are parramatta and we are open for buisiness.Look at Penrith they have already tied down all but one player and that's peter Wallace.
    • And they have an absolute gun JUNIOR taking Wallace’s spot
      • Actually they have two Gucci, Katoa and Egan.

We have Kaysa and King lol.

  • They ain't that strong they have played dogs twice parra twice cowboys twice knights and titans ... wait till they verse the big teams
    • But they are set up for the next 5 years, Cleary is the only long term player they haven't signed up.

Their bench forwards shit on ours, let alone their starting pack.

They have Mansour,Blake and Edwards outs but they bring in young blokes like Creighton at 19 and he is killing it.

Instead we are paying overs for a bloke like Hoffman who's best spot is at fullback which we have 3 overs in the squad.  BA has no fucking idea he would rather play moneyball than give a young bloke a crack.

Can someone ask me this question when was the last time we produced a decent winger from our juniors??  I know the smart arses will say Semi but lets face it we got lucky with him. We pinched him from Fiji.  You have to go back to Inu which is well over a decade ago, truly embarrassing with a nursery our size. No wonder our cap is fucked we aren't even able to bring a young junior on the wing which every single club seems to be able to do.
