The Parramatta Barometer (The Parraometer)

Has anyone else noticed that when Luke Burt is goalkicking well, Parra play incredible and when he is off with the boot, the chances are that we are struggling as a team?Earlier in the year, Burt was pretty horrendous, missing some easy shots putting us under extra undue pressure especially in the games where we were putting in the effort. Having said that, over the last month as we have made a real push, his goalkicking is back to it's superlative best. What do you all think about the Parraometer?

  • Ha, brilliant observation Robert. Great initial contributions to the site!

I've always said Burty only ever looks good when we're playing well, which I attributed to him basing so much of his game on his support play, but maybe there's a bit of psychological thing with him there as well.
  • He wasn't gettin much practice earlier in season because we weren't scoring tries..... now we are........
  • makes sense, 2 bonus points from goalkicking is sometimes extremely crucial
  • Yes i agree.. i guess it all comes down to confidence.... its amazing how things change with a bit of confidence..
  • Never really noticed but will be open minded to it now.

"We're just lacking 1 or 2 genuine speedsters. It makes a massive difference especially on shift to the edges. You see it when Melbourne play. It's 4 on 4 then Papenhuyzen gets it and suddenly it's 3 on 2 purely due to his speed. It's also massive…"

One local junior I would like to see back with the Eels is Trey Mooney. I think he was captain of the under 19s NSW origin team. "
