I read people discussing it and obviously we havent had a No7 do well for ages (thats right Tad Im including Sandow in this).
So is it because we cant find a good 7 or is it because as fans we believe whoever wears the 7 is automatically the saviour or marquee player?
Can we as Eels fans get our heads around an average 7 supporting better players in other positions? or should every 7 live up to the Sterlo standard?
Id be interested in your honest assessment as reading some posts over the years I think we forget whos playing 7 and just expect that No7 will win us games.

Thats what Im saying; No curse just the expectation that whoever plays in that jersey must be another Sterlo?

Weve had some success but never the premiership we want.
The game has changed and the eole of the 7 has changed what we need is one star half witch we do and one solid half who excels at at least 1 aspect eg.. Luke walsh short kicking hodkinson kicking defense and goal kicking.
The problem is se haven't got the balance right yet. Maybe its robbo maybe its foggerty or someone else.
LOL I remember that little old lady on poltergeist. This jersey is clean.
Agree there is no curse, except the one that seems to exist with the supporters who are still high on the Sterlo days. Don't hear the knights going on as much since A Johns retired, who was in the same pin for the Knights.
Every club likely has what are deemed to be key players in specific positions & have taken years if every to get another such player, think Saints with Billy Smith. Raper, Gasnier, Provan & the like, go to Souths, even Manly they have the same thing in key positions.
Sterlo is finished, so let him stay in the past & for those who remember him, keep & enjoy the memories. We just need a good reliable 6 & 7, & remember Kenny was part of Sterlo's success so was Price. Ella & Kenny, so why focus on one player, rather than support the next player who wears the 7, or any number between 1 & whatever other number is worn on their backs.
