In actual fact, scientists have found that gold fish can actually retain information for up to three months.
Interestingly, this gives gold fish a superior memory bank to many Parramatta Eels Fans (Supportus ficklelus sans clue). Scientists have discovered that this strange breed of creature is capable of memorising no more than one week at a time.
In an on-going scientific experiment, a large number of Parramatta Eels Fans were locked up together on a website. There were then presented with a number of games. For instance, one match was staged against the team that had won the previous year's grand final, with a full-strength side of stars unfairly playing together. The club that these Parramatta Eels Fans were meant to support performed valiantly and defeated this cheating but talented side and the Parramatta Eels Fan rejoiced and declared their club premiership favourites.
In the next game, less than a fortnight later, the same club played again but this time in conditions that did not suit, with a disrupted preparation and just for the kicker, their winger was removed from the game after 10 minutes forcing a number of players to play the rest of the match in foreign positions. The side lost this match to a flukey kick in the final two minutes.
Quite remarkably, all memories of the win just two weeks early were totally forgotten by many of the Supportus Ficklelus sans clue. Players who had starred just two weeks earlier were now slandered as talentless. Many declared the exact polar observation to their declarations the previous fortnight and proclaimed the season as over.
Scientists admit they have zero understanding of this remarkable behaviour.

In times when they need us the most, people go missing!
We all know they have it in them, but did anyone seriously expect much of a performance after everything that has happened at parra in the past 2 weeks ( Hayne headbutt, origin loss affecting players, Tahu incident). I think not!
I agree - until we are mathematically impossible, I won't give up.
Isn't having hope so much more fun anyway?! :-)
We were going into the round in 9th and lost.... could we have jumped 2 spots
But the stats dont lie. Our attack is struggling and Monday night really showed that. You would be a fool to say the season is over, but you would be just as foolish to say we are cruising along without a care in the world.
In the Melb game we did score one off a kick from Burt and two tries from great work by Reddy and Hayne out wide. Apart from their kicking game the 6 and 7 did not do much to create points in that one.
The structures and attacking ability was back for the Melbourne game and decent weather permitting it will be back this weekend when we take down the Broncos.
