Every time I think that our club’s administration can’t get any lower, they find new ways to shock me.
Besmirching the character of every one of those candidates on the ParraFirst team is a disgrace. I truly hope that someone is leaning on Eric to put those posts out, or perhaps it’s just very poor judgement, but whatever the case is, it’s just plain wrong.
That online post from Grothe Jnr has called into question the integrity of not just the two supposed individuals he claims to have overheard, but by not naming anyone, it casts a shadow across every one of their directors.
Let’s recognise here, that we’re not talking about individuals without a public profile like most of the current directors. You have two former Deputy Lord Mayors of Parramatta, you have two very successful CEOs and three Football Club life members who between them have given some 80 to 90 years of service to the club.
I spoke to ParraFirst candidate Peter Serrao this morning. I’ve become pretty good mates with Pete since standing alongside him at the Football Club election. The guy has Blue and Gold blood pulsing through his veins and we share a passion for the welfare of the Parramatta nursery and junior base.
This morning, he told me he’d been getting all sorts of texts and phone calls from all kinds of people asking him what the hell was going on. Peter actually coached Eric Grothe Jnr when he was coming through the grades and I notice on Twitter that EGJ has since qualified that Serrao was not involved. Of course, all that serves to do is intensify the speculation on the other six members. Eric says he won’t reveal any names out of respect for their families, but instead he has placed additional pressure on the families of ALL the candidates.
If you’re not willing to back up outrageous accusations like that, then you simply don’t make them.
I can’t help but find it ironic, that Parra4ever.com.au, a website that represents the current directors of the board is free to post this damaging and defamatory post. Apparently that’s ok, but allowing supporters to have the freedom to voice their frustrations about an underperforming club via this website is behaviour not becoming of a director.
Honestly, and people wonder why we’re in a mess. This kind of thing used to make my blood boil. These days, I've almost become resigned to it. And that deeply, deeply saddens me.

I admire your restraint here Phil. Like you I've become weary, almost resigned to the fact that these types of tactics will be used by 3P or its supporters. It's a sad and sorry state of affairs.
EGJ and his followers seem unable to make the distinction between a fellow member putting him or herself forward for an elected position OR an enemy of the club. I was amazed during the Football Club elections the level of vitriol and hate spewed forth at myself and my fellow candidates from supporters of EGJ. But it would seem that acts like this are water off a duck's back to those involved. It's immature, irrational, ill-logical and simply unintelligent but who said these elections were about appointing the best individuals.
And Eric if you are reading this, I cannot believe the language you use to describe Peter Serrao. He taught you the game as a young bloke and steered you on the right path to make it in the NRL. And this is the respect you show him?? Grow up!!
Unlike the infamous Jamesy Picture which was clearly satire, EGJ has in my view defamed ParraFirst I wonder if one of this sites legal egals such a BM would be able to enlighten us as to whether these candidates have a case to bring upon Eric Grothe Jnr and his pals? I would be extremely interested to know!
It can't be defamatory unless he names someone i'm fairly sure, which for instance is why the liberal party can constantly refer to labor's back room faction leaders and state all kinds of things without it being defamatory.
Well Phil surely that site has broken whatever rules this site has that got you suspended so how about bring that up at the AGM I'm sure you'll have no problem getting a 2nder.

I can understand the tiredness that constant battles bring to one's soul - and how it will sap the energy from you

Chin up mate - no one on this site (expect the moles) have deserted you - although you are basically the guy in the ring getting belted around - there are staunch and confident supporters in your corner.
What saddens me is that Parrafirst claim to have no alignment with Fitzy.....steve sharp and denis fitzgerald were spotted having coffee at the back of City Central.
