We've slipped to 11th and we're now four points outside the eight. The longer you look at the table, even accounting for a four from four finish, you keep looking at the points differential and it doesn't make for any pleasant caluclations.
However, ever the optimist, there are some positives to come out of this weekend's footballs as well - purely from a possible finals point of view.
The biggest is the injury to Darren Lockyer. According to today's media reports Lockyer is an unlikely starter on Friday - which will obviously be a gigantic advantage to us. If we can't beat Brisbane without Lockyer we don't deserve to be anywhere near the finals (and obviously won't be). But hopefully we can record a strong win and it just might kickstart our revival. Here's hoping, anyway.
John Sutton's season-ending injury is going to make life very hard for the Bunnies. His loss is going to be a big blow for them and given their tough run home they still are up against it.
I was cheering for the Tigers, but looking at their draw - they're also no certainty to make the eight. Aside from playing us, they have Penrith, the Titans and Storm. You would tip them to lose to the Panthers and Titans, and it really just depends which Storm side turns up. They could very well finish the season on 28 points. Looking at all the sides ahead of us, I'm actually thinking the Tigers are the most likely to fall in a hole and could be the surprise drop-outs from the top eight. They have after all managed to do it the past two seasons!

If DA is really the coach that many claim, we need to see something different in the game plan this week.
I can't remember a game this year where we have had any noticeable game plan or strategy - even as simply as bombing a vulnerable winger like we did to Vatuvei a couple of seasons ago.
And after watching the Roosters and Dragons yesterday I don't know if we can step it up to their level of intensity. Its purely mental attitude and desire but I just don't know after our last two games. I hope the boys get some mongrel intent this weekend.
