  It has been announced he's retiring.
  
  I am sure his manager released a statement 6 weeks ago and the it was confirmed agin after origin. I think there is some chance he will play next year.... maybe 5% chance.... but officially, he's retiring this year

    it was never confirmed he has even said himself he hasnt made up hes mind yet the statement was that he was going to retire as there was no offers from the sharkies or other clubs at the time. even after origin 3 he was asked if it was hes last origin game he shrugged off the question and said hes still unsure

    there has been no press conference or him talking publicly saying he is definetly retiring...!!

  Barrett was on Ch 7 news and said straight out that if he keeps playing next year it will be with the Sharks,he seemed pretty straight forward about it.

  Honestly i dont think Barrett is that good to be causing all this fuss, he had an ok origin 3 and the sharks, well lets be fair dinkum they have some talent but they are not being guided around the park and thats because of the halves ie Barrett.
  
  in my opinion i think orford is the best option if we are to buy another half, he has the experience in big games and has won a gf and if you want a bit of irony (irony because of the talk of him being an eel) try this for size...................
  Orford is the first player since Peter Sterling to win the Dally M Medal and the premiership in the same year.

  David.... neither of our halves have played origin footy... not even close... it would be a massive boost for our club..... there presence on the field would be enough to help out young morts..!!
