  its the replacement hooker that gave the eels a bit of flare last year i dont think kk is the right choice give mitchell a go and see if that works over the next few weeks they should chop and change to get the right combo matts ok safe and defence is good maybe burt off the bench i dont im no coach

  Wow thanks for your expert opinion Jamesy on the Keating boys.... Have you watched the replay, Matt went ok he was right up there with the tackle count and did his best with the slow play the balls.... If it wasn't for the kick during the last few minutes he wouldn't be getting a mention...... You only have to look at the stats that Bourbon man posted the other day to realize what work he actually puts in..... DA is not silly mate and the stats really do tell the story....maybe you should have a chat with the coach and tell him where he is going wrong..
  
  As for Kris your hidden agenda against him really makes you look like a bit silly mate..... whenever Kris is allowed to play in his prefered position at 5/8 he plays well ..... but to be sent out ther the other night and actually play in 4 different positions was definately not the way that he was supposed to be used.....

  Jamesy, c'mon dude. You're bagging Kris because he got limited time. I'm not sure how you expect him to address that?
  
  Our worse period of the game was just happened to coincide with when Matt went off.
  
  Let's go highlight for highlight where the Keating brothers came up with poor plays, and I'll do likewise just for Daniel Mortimer. If any of our halves/hookers who had a howler it was Mortimer. Yet I haven't seen one person calling for his head and nor should they. It's the first game of the year, the halves are still adapting to each other and I don't think Daniel Anderson handled his interchange at all well last night.

  BTW, on two occassions the Dragons went straight up the centre and it was only MK that was there with last ditch tackles to prevent a bust.

  matt has always been a slug type hooker. Which can work. But he doesnt seem to control any sort of direction for the team. Cameron Smith is the same type of hooker but can dominate the ruck area. Thats what matt needs to do. Even though he makes alot of tackles. hes pretty poor in attack. but to be fair out halves werent giving him alot of options, morts and robbo were ghosts in the attack on friday made one god run each only. Hayne and mateo were the playmakers on the night. Halves need to control the team more not just be another body to pass through or put a kick in ( kicking game by everyone on the night was pretty off).
  
  And to be fair with our salary cap. We got kris, matt, robbo and morts , and none of them are our fifth tackle option.. hayne is completely the go to man. so one of em is gone.

  I don't agree with Jamesy's delivery and it is way too early to be back on the "Who needs to go" theme but he is right. MK did not perform.
  
  Now before you Keating brother aficionado's get your undies tangled and your blue and yellow glasses steamed up, hear me out.
  
  I watched the game again and tried to be as unbiased as I could. I wasn't impressed the first time I watched it and the 2nd time round, mmmm, not much better. This time last year, I saw parallels in MK's game to how bad Daniel Irvine was for us in seasons gone. He would have been my first pick to be scuttled. During the year, I mellowed and started to like what I saw. I think that qualifies for a non-judgemental opinion.
  
  Yeah his defence was good but that is only part of his role. Fast service from dummy half 5/10. That kick at the end 0/10, that was plain stupid. Overall kicking 6/10. Option taken 4/10 - he was back to going the wrong way for most and that ineffective little dummy returned.
  
  KK didn't get much game time so it is hard to know but he did look completely lost out there. It was almost like he didn't know his role. In my opinion you can't go from 1 set as a half and the next as dummy half. KK looks like a player that warms into a position before he can shine.
  
  I do think both will get better for the run, only time will tell.

  Give anthony mitchell his shot and see if he impresses, matt keating never runs the ball out of dummy half even when theres a quick play the ball it shits me to tears.

  wake up to yourself eugene, I never played league for starters. (I'm a soccer player). And as any fan does, I'm allowed to have an opinion on the team I love and support.

    I agree with eugene jamesy has all the answers i cant wait till the keating boys make him eat humble pie he is entitled to his opinion but as usual all he does is blame the keating boys its getting a bit boring
