The Hardies curse lifted?

I'm just not sure. Hardies killed a lot of people with asbestos poisoning. It seems they also knew about the risks - at least for a time. Many dead. And they were our sponsors and they gave us money and our success gave them more success and with that came more deaths. They then made it difficult for the families of the dead to be compensated. A shameful history that we are unwittingly bound to for all eternity. So the Gods laugh at us. And laugh. Then. Just when it seems the Hardies curse has been lifted finally, it strikes again. Will things be different this year. I fear not.

  • Oh I see, so everything bad that has happened to us is because of James Hardie?

Maybe it's just bad things happening to league in general - because it was the Winfield Cup - and Ciggies have killed millions.

Maybe The Blues have been so poor at Origin because Tooheys used to sponsor them - booze has wiped out plenty as well.

I'm surprised Manly have had any success - they once had Pepsi as a sponsor and there are plenty of morbidly obese f*ckers wandering around addicted to soft drink and destined for a diabetes related death.

Actually, the famous grouse sponsored us as well once upon a time- more booze - no wonder we have had so many problems.

    We're doomed :)

    • What about DUX hot water systems Kram, oh the humanity.

    • And now Manly are tight with Lottoland big time, they should never have success again. MDF and silica dust are the new asbestos
    • The difference is all those sponsors you mentioned offered products that you chose or not to consume. You know the risks smoking and booze carry. With asbestos now, some poor feckers were just try to get their home done. I'm sure if there was a warning saying "Our products carry asbestos which will cause cancer, I'm sure no one would have bought them.

    • Thanks Captain Obvious Allen. So glad you cleared that up. I can rest easy now knowing that you have sorted this one out.
  • I think this blog needs to be deleted, mods?
  • Haha interesting thread.

No doubt theres some very negative thought forms around the company and its history that some would argue might have attached itself to the club through association, but they left us years ago, probably a bit of a long bow to draw now.

    • Actually I didn't realise that James Hardie was still trading. If they came forward with a million dollar sponsorship would you accept?

  • No i wouldnt accept, they treated innocent people like shit whos lives they had destroyed.

Instead of giving many compo to spend their final years in some sort of comfort they fucked them around so the last few years of their lives were a legal nightmare.

Absolutely no way and theres no way Bernie would either.
