The Good, the Bad and Ugly

Well another game but a welcome win, although scrappy.

The Good

Defence good all over the field but we were lucky Semi covered his wing good enough to force Cows player over sideline. Cows targeted our right side but they improved greatly from last week. Will need to improve even further next week against the Dogs.

The Bad

Gutherson still very much a work in progress. Haven't seen any hint of his supposed speed but makes too many schoolboy errors for me. Not sold on him yet but who do we have to replace him?

The Ugly

Our attack is still poor, still too much rust. Clean ball still not reaching our right hand side. Jennings and Radradra have hardly touched the ball in an attacking movement. BA has much work to do in this area, it will come, and I hope next week. Foran still seems hampered, whether mental or physical, by his leg and still not 100%, I thought only played at 50% so with his improvement hopefully attack will dramatically improve. Still think Gower, who can offload under pressure, would be better than Terepo.

  • I agree about gower and terepo .
  • Some blokes just love complaining.
  • Gower is a must for me. We finally have a fullback that is constantly around the ruck looking for short balls/offload. Problem is none of our middle forwards have the skill to fully utalise him. Gower has a decent off load but even better vision and I can see him popping balls to Gordan against tiring defensive lines and big packs like the dogs.
  • Nice one Glen. Was going to do one, for this round, but you beat me to the punch.

Our attitude was outstanding, especially defensively. Aggressive, too.

Matt Scott commented on our rushing in your face defence "spooked" the Cowboys into errors.

Even our tries, through Edwards, Peats & Taka's to a degree where the result of attitude & determination - not because of attacking fluency & combinations.

More importantly, the great attitude was fairly consistently throughout the 80 minutes & 2 weeks in a row.

We may be in the process of losing our title as the soft underbelly Kings.

Really proud of this attitude, especially in light of a gruesomely ugly media bombing blitz all week & more destabilising cap scandals.
