The Good: Mitchell Moses. He outplayed Cleary in the time he was on field. The only blemish was missing the field goal, just. Otherwise, his kicking was 10/10.
I thought Nuikore and Kaufusi were very strong. It was Oregon's best game ever for us. Reg tried hard and Matterson was solid.
Mahoney had one of his better games too.
The Bad: We didn't come out of the blocks like we had to. Paulo barely touched the ball in the first few sets. Our line speed in defence was lacking and there was no kick pressure on Cleary. I can't understand why not. Surely that had to be a tactic marked in the play book.
Paulo's dud challenge started the rot. He dropped it cold, twice in the one handle, then challenged early in the game. Really piss poor.
Sivo and Blake had to take more yardage carries. They didn't do enough in our end of the field.
Finally, D Brown and Gutherson were MIA, and Lanes performance was down too. They had to find a way to get involved. They let the moment pass them by.
The Ugly: Waqa Blake. Horrible night. Cleary's bombs would be difficult to take, but Waqa had to be better. BA should have hooked him and let Marata play centre. You can't leave a sitting duck like that out on the field.
The option to have JA on the bench doesn't work. Tonight certified that. If there was ever an occasion to have a back up half on the bench, tonight was the night. But rather than it being a master-stroke, it proved JA isn't up to it. Not saying he was really bad. That cut out ball to Waqa was nice. But the pressure was too much for him and he didn't look like steadying the ship. He is simply too green. That kick out on the full was rank. We would have lost irrespective of who was on the bench don't get me wrong. But JA shouldn't be on the bench irrespective.
Errors. We shat the bed in that second half. It's really disappointing. Completions. You can't complete at 50% in a finals game.

Moses might not be able to play next week. That was a nasty knock out.

The bad , can't belive nobodies taking about how useless DBrown was. Our halves make ups obviously Moses kicks and Brown runs . Brown may as well have had one leg last night. A few of our guys seem to have a big game one week and then get a bit tied up in the newspapers pumping their tyres up .
Honourable mention to Gutherson in this section. Not great , considering the stage he was on .
The ugly , Wronga Blake and The Kid. Both of these guys were an embarrassment to their respective families last night. One of them still gets to put about 10 grand in his bank still for his efforts.
The positive, Waqa has had one of these games before and the coach stuck with him , the next week he had a blinder. And Dylbags is hot one week and cold the next , so this week he's due ?

He is one of the best 6's in the game, in attack he cruises in and and out of games, makes one or two space cadet mistakes then if you are lucky a few moments of brilliance, excellent in defence, still doesn't demand the ball, Friday night he should have been screaming at Mahoney to shovel the ball his way rather than leaving JA to flounder in attack. This is where the team ( BA - who is as stubborn as a mule, Mahoney & Gutho especially) is plain dumb... When MM was off, all the ball should have been going through either Gutho or DB. Leaving the kicking duties and the attack to run through someone with little experience and who is quite frankly not up to NRL standard is stupidity...
Dylan Brown goes missing at times and he does some really dumb things at times. He's a 70/30 player. 70% good and 30% dumb. His defence is great most of the time.
