Do we have a throwback this Saturday to the old 'Match of the Day'?

Despite the fact the venue isn't the SCG, yes we do.

A 3pm kickoff on a Saturday afternoon for a match as big as the Roosters and the Sharks is going to bring back some good memories for the older rugby league fan.

I don't know whether they can fill Central Coast Stadium this week, but the contest deserves a big crowd. The match will be a belter!

Thought this was a good recall from years gone by; and then we had the ABC in the 80's etc. with Warren Boland; John Peard and Artie Beetson

  • It's not the NFL's choice to keep Saturdays clear, the NFL isn't allowed to be played on Fridays and Saturdays due to College Football being played those days it was actually an Act passed through congress in 1961 so it's basically ILLEGAL to play professional Football in America on a Fri & Sat (except Xmas n Thanks Giving)... I'm pretty sure they would love to play games on those two days... You could imagine the Broadcasters wanting that too. I could Imagine I would hate if League had 16 games a week where 13 of them are played on a Sunday afternoon overlapping each other.

That's what I love about NRL no games overlap so u can watch every game live
