Our Eels last night didnt deliver, and a lot of players are not what we thought. Was that the loss we had to have ?
We found out that Dylan is not a game manager and is still a kid.
We found out Gutho is human and cant carry the team all on his own for 4 weeks in a row.
We found out that our Reserves are not first grade standard.
We found out, that Field isnt up to it on a regular basis.
We found that a 28 year old rookie isnt the answer. "Updated to 28 year old performs better then some established forwards."
We found that Fergo hasnt been playing that bad
We found that G. Jennings should never wear a blue and gold jersey in First grade again.
We found out that Fatigue has caught up with our team.
But we also found out that the players Moses, Ferguson, Matterson are crucial for our teams success.
My thoughts are we will be an entirely different team next week with Moses calling the shots, Matto and Fergo refreshed, Gillard on fire, Dylan allowed to be free again in the background, Gutho being able to concentrate on playing Fullback instead of game managing and kicking for goal. Lane will cop a rocket from his coach and peers and will be ready to prove doubters wrong. Mahoney is looking tired and working his ass off, the experince should hold him in good stead for the end of year finals, and old George Jennings will never be seen in a first grade blue and gold jersey ever again.
So what are people opinions was that the game we had to have, so many experts say year in year out that teams at the top need a kick in the ass mid year to go on and win a comp, have we just had our kick, and can we come back bigger and stronger.
My thoughts are that we will beat the tigers by 20.

Geez BE you've gone pretty hard at Andrew Davey - made his debut played 30mins and went well.... what were you expecting from him?
Fatigue.... maybe mental fatigue - but let's see what they dish up next week - they're a fit team who finish games very well.
In any case it's a loss and a bad effort so niw the team get the chance to hit back next week.
Actually Embers, I think your right. Davey performed better then a lot of our forwards. Perhaps I should of wrote we found a 28 year old rookie that performed better then some established forwards.
Well after a day of recovery today it's only a 3 day preparation into Thursday night.
That shit attitude needs to turn around in a hurry cos the Tigers will come to stick it to us and unless we turn up ready to rumble we will get rolled
Tigers will def roll us if we play like that
everyone except for RCG needs to have a damn good shake of themselves
I’m not wasting my good prosciutto on that type of crap again !!!
Juniors is carrying an injury & doing the Best he can. Niukore is playing out of Skin, Playing better than Some.
AD played to his expectations with his 29 mins on the field. Campbell is only one player. They Need to play as a Team. ..
LOL Carlo - I think the problem was they were having a shake instead of concentrating on playing.
Interpret that anyway you like.
They will be coming alright, "Straight up the Middle".
They will be targeting Maddsion & Moses been ex tiggers..
Yep like what I saw of Davey.
Better than some of the others we have at our disposal.
He's a rookie still playing at 28 because he loves it, others are only playing for the pay cheque IMO. I know who I prefer to pick.
Same here Frankie. Determination, grit and perseverance are signs of great character. Hopefully he gets a couple more runs.
OH FFS - Dylan Brown with Jai Field have NOT accumulated 50 FG so you now tell us D Brown and Jai Field (less FG games than Brown) are inexperienced?
PLUS they were up against the current best halfback in the comp.
You rock Einstien.
From all accounts Davey aquitted himself pretty well, overall - another Einstien moment?
Now this definitely wins the Einstien award - We found out that our Reserves are not first grade standard.
Closely followed by - But we also found out that the players Moses, Ferguson, Matterson are crucial for our teams success.
