The fan Analysis -lack of Pace comes home to Roost

I can't find too many positives out of this game. I'm going to highlight the significant moments.1. Not taking 2 points near the end of the first half. Crucially bad decision.2. The injury to Morgan. We went into the game with probably the slowest backline in the competition. We ended the game with 2 forwards in the centres and two slow turning wingers. Paid the price.3. Scrum win against the head denied. Momentum lost. Field position lost. Dumbfounding decision.4. The Watmough dispossession. The match winning try is scored off an inexplicably poor ruling.5. 3 consecutive incomplete sets by our forwards. Set up the pressure.Up to the last 10 minutes the Tigers were as ineffective as Parra. The score line did not reflect their play. We really paid the price for our lack of pace and penetration in the second half. Both teams looked dog tired. I wonder what caused both teams to look so sluggish. The referees have no excuse!

  • I would rule out any excuse when it comes to referees.
Sure 1 or 2 decisions were not the best, but that didn't cost us the game
    Those 3 errors were massive
  • Yes we were below par but gees the refs are a farking disgrace.

Even after the showed replays of the win against the feed and the Farah knock on the refs just don't concede an error.

Those two moments were critical in the outcome.

  • Well clearly when your centes are Manu Mau and David Gower (haha can't believe I even just wrote that) you are gonna struggle in the speed department.

We are basically running out of personnel. We will come good when we get some speed back but by then it may be too late
  • So Watmough was going to lead our young forwards well he is not doing a good job of it very inconsistent in all 3 of our losses he has made some ordinary mistakes at crucial times. John Folau is too slow to turn around & chase, Hopoate too slow & constantly out of position in defence
  • I think the Tigers hung in waiting for us to drop our bundle. Then we did. Lack of pace out wide didn't help, nor Hoppa's Inspector Gadget routine in defense, but dropping the bundle was the ultimate issue.
  • They would have ruled AGAINST the Eels. Trini

  • You forgot the strip against Hoppa when trying to score that was ruled a knock on.

You forgot the LACK of leadership.

You forgot Tedesco's dropped ball over the line - which incidentally was NOT shown more than twice and ignored.

You forgot the lack of commitment from just about the entire team.

You forgot that Tepai was NOT sighted on the field in the 2nd half - BUT we are going to play him regardless next week.

I think I need a holiday AWAY from the NRL.

    • You forgot that my advancing years causes me to forget. So in fact you are being forgetful about my forgetfulness Sir Col.
