The highlighted failures of Bernie Gurr

■ Announces himself head of football. Absouloutly Disgraceful, knowing full well he was out of touch with the current league having been in America for a decade.

■ Hiring a head trainer who had zero NRL experience having previously trained in the AFL. A very critical position headlining what a novice choice Bernie has made. I have no idea what the imbecile Bernie was thinking here. Fmd.

■ Makes a mockery of our playing strip leading to our yellow away strip being scrapped after a couple of months. The whole kit including the white shorts should be burnt and never seen again. Really inspiring strip Bernie. An absolute debacle.

■ Let's Luke Burt who made the 20s gf just leave whilst keeping a failing Nathan Cayless.
As well as letting another assistant go to souths.

■ has minimal influence over player behavior with continuing bad behavior off the park.

■ Wooden spoon club again, with absolutely no window of opportunity to challenge for a comp anytime soon.

■ No significant signings for the 2018 season.

Gurr needs to come out and explain why he has made so many errors of judgment in his time here.

The fans need something from you asap.
You need to confront this situation and not hide behind your desk Yes we all know there's going to be a review statement but Bernie has made far too many errors to escape scott free.

All three grades are out of the semi final race and it's an absolute farce that a huge junior based club like Parramatta are total failures.

  • Bernie is an absolute pretender, an absolute fraud.

  • Failure to arrange he necessarily 3rd party deals that teams like the roosters, sharks and scum obviously successfully get away with for a while to look good.
  • Is it true that the away jersey was scrapped?.
    • Yep. The heritage strip became our away jersey.

      • The "Heritage" strip should be our permanent jersey design.

  • Considering his reported salary I would have expected Bernie to fix all the things the review will undoubtedly identify. But instead we’ve had to hire external consultants to do what this ‘hi powered’ CEO could not. Bernie is a nice guy and he’s intelligent but he’s way out of his depth in the current structure as CEO. He has no business installing himself as Head of Football either given his complete lack of recent experience. His results speak for themselves. Bernie can’t avoid responsibility for the dire shape our club is in. The buck stops with him.

  • I found Bernie Gurr quoting this about the jersey for 2018. “We wanted a jersey that represented the Parramatta Eels and its rich history. There was a strong wish to create a Parramatta Eels identity. Consistent with a traditional jersey and our Club’s history, we also wanted to return to our “blue and gold” colours".

I was never in favour of it.  The jersey design we have now are the ones we wore in the 50's and 60's when we earned 11 wooden spoons.  The moment we changed the strip the clubs fortunes changed.   When I think of our club and a jersey thatrepresents us it would be the jersey design I attached below.

    • I agree.

We definitely need to refine our official blue and offical yellow. Our history of jerseys are a rainbow of various blues and yellows. But agreed that 80’s design is our most iconic. The current jersey is a massive flop.

  • Bernie is an absolute fraud, but don't forget the Penny pinching prick in Max.  He needs to own this as well, what a disaster of a season.  I'm just so glad the coach and head trainer are both safe, I mean they have utterly failed on every level but our amazing review has them both safe. LOL this club is beyond help.

  • I thought the afl trainer got punted?
