"Rather Samrani! Does seem odd given the speculation of swapping him for old Barnett. Penisini can be really great at times and then really off at other times. Samrani has been very impressive and seems very strong and determined which is what Parra…"

"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.

That really sucks for him
Thank you for those facts as the previous info was not clear and inferred that he didn't have 3 Doctors supporting his return. I'm guessing that if he/club repaid the monies he received upon medically retiring he would be right to play but I'm guessing it is a large amount of money that Richard probably doesn't have any more.
Yes. He'll most likely start the year in NSW cup though.
Difficult legal issue. I'd take a good guess that if the money was repaid to the insurance company he would be allowed to return this year, but he may have been paid 3 to 4 years pay and we could be talking about 100-150K x 4 in monies paid out to him. It could be the case that he would be playing for little to no money for the next several seasons if he had to pay a big bill back. Seems a little unusual that there are legal conditions allowing him to return next year but not this year? Due to the seriousness of the injury another 12 months away from the game may be a safe move physically.
