Hi all,
First of all I want to say a HUGE congrats to the Parramatta Eels club for introducing the Eels Members Council.
I know a lot of us here would have applied, and congrats to the lucky few who were selected.
Now, to this reason for this blog -
BRAINSTORMING SOME IDEAS FOR THOSE WHO ARE ON THE COUNCIL, READ THIS SITE and CAN TAKE A FEW IDEAS TO THE MEETINGS !!!!
I know there will be many who will no doubt have a bit of fun with some suggestions that are designed to, let's say "extract the urine" on this blog (I'm being polite with my wording!!), but if we can try (please try!!), to resist temptation and come up with some genuine thoughts and ideas that people who are on the members council can take from this site to the council meeting.
Cheers!

Cheers, Matt
no worries!
Hopefully we can help the Members Council out with some ideas, be it either ones that the council may not have thought of before, or if a few people seem to come up with a similar thought, not only from here, but at the meetings, the team know that they are really onto something.
happy to help out!
I think it is essential that if the Eels Members Council adopt a suggestion from a member or from this site, that proper attribution is given to that member or to the person from this site. Passing off ideas as ones own is improper behaviour.
Mutt, keep the bastards honest mate, give some of these clowns an inch and they'll take a mile, rule with an iron fist, some of our fellow eels fans are A grade imbeciles, thats how the likes of Roy and EGJ get elected, to be honest some of our fans are so stupid, take PESC for example, or the toothless women who protested at the club, that im very worried about our fans having any say at all, you will probably spend 50% of your time talking about how women can become more involved with the club.
Keep em honest mutt.
I'll start the ball rolling -
Players turning up to the after game function at the Leagues Club after a home match.
I understand that the players are contracted to appear, so it's not that they want to appear at the after function, but they are contracted to do so.
Point in case being the final home match last year when we had that brilliant comeback against Manly ..... in my opinion, the roof would have been raised off the club with the shouts and cheers from the fans, but the team had completed their contractual commitments to turn up after the game to the fans.
I do understand that the coach and players have friends and family that they would love to spend time with, but I would hope that they would love to give something to the fans, especially those who have made it to the game.
Can the after game function with the players and coach , after the home games in the Leagues Club be something that happens after EVERY home game, not just the ones they are contractually obliged to do.
In 2009 there was a trivia night where each table had 1 player from the NRL and 1 NYC member sit at their table. I'd like to see that again, was members only and I don't think it cost too much for a table of 8 or so.
Another one could be a section on the Eels website where members only can have downloadable content, this could be extra interviews with the players, some video from training sessions. Would be a good incentive for interstate people to get a membership too as they can't get down to training sessions so a quick snapshot of what the players are doing could be good.
Interesting one, Ham.
Your 2nd point actually ties into some ideas I had about getting videos, interviews and downloadable content out there for the fans across the board.
When called upon to suggest ideas, I'll keep this one in mind and raise it.
I think a trivia table made up of a few contributors here would be very competitive. Count me in.
I was one of the trivia hosts that night. I did the marking. I thought it was a great night and people really had a great time interacting with the players. I know that we would love as a trivia company to do that again. It was lots of fun....
