The Depth of our Forward Pack (too much?)

We have nine forward pack places excluding the hooker in our first team. We currently have 16 forwards who are contending for those places-

Mannah
Watmough
Gower
Ju Paulo
Jo Paulo
Moeroa
Lussick
Mau
Edwards
Wicks
Fa'aso
Pauli Pauli
De Gois
Nelson
Mcpherson
Terepo

My starting forward pack would be-

8. Mannah
9. Peats
10. Ju Paulo
11. Mau
12. Edwards
13. Watmough

14. Fa'aso
15. Wicks
16. Gower
17. Moeroa

I tried to fit in de gois but couldnt because we need two props on the bench. Its quite hard to leave out promising forwards like pauli pauli, terepo and lussick. Do you think we might have too much competition in our forward pack?

  • Competition = good times
  • You want your players competing against one another. It makes them play better and they don't want to lose there spot.
  • BAs pulled the oldest trick in the footy book.

He knows some of our poorer performances this year came from a lack of intensity and lack of desire.

He has bought all these extra depth players to create the right environment for hunger.

Teams are always best when you have guys playing for their place because there are plenty of others hungry to step up, Through all these buys he is going to create some serious competition in the team, we have been lacking that big time.

And i think its a great move, exactly what i would have done myself if i was in his position, and he has bought some aggression in through choc, wicks and Fa'aoso, ive no doubt our pack will be better next year and on our day i think we will be able to seriously compete with the likes of the dogs and souths packs.

  • Oh great....another team blog!

    • c'mon Snaps - I haven't seen a team list for at least 5 days.

Not to mention we haven't seen a HAYNE blog for longer - well not a dedicated Hayne blog.

At least the Brow has only used names of players in the Eels squad - now that IS different imo

    • Wouldn't "another team blog" be a blog about Canberra or Manly or the Bulldogs..?
  • If all are fit and in form

I would prefer to start with Fa'aso and have Junior off the bench. I see Junior as an attacking prop and he does better when the opposition is a bit tired.

  • Eventually Pauli will have to take Gower's spot or go to another team

Not sure what happens with Terepo unless Wicks and Faaso are just for 2015

  • We could do a "Fullbacks for 2015" blog and call it the Broncos team list.

  • Lussick off the bench. No impact and terepo or tepai better
