The Curse of Kimmorley

Now I'm not a really superstitious person but some things seem to be more than coincidence. I know many people wanted Kimmorley to either play for us and help Morts or as a halves coach. However, his record with each club he is employed at isn't great. He played for Newcastle, Hunter Mariners, The Cheats, Dogs, Sharks and Northern Eagles. All but 1 club has had a problem. The Eagles and Mariners are gone, Sharks are almost gone, the Dogs haven't performed well for a long time and had the salary cap issue and obviously the Cheats breached the Salary Cap. Kimmorley is coaching at the Digs and their halves haven't got any better. Glad we didn't get Kimmorley or we'd be next.

  • didnt all the teams listed above have troubles once he left?
    • Pretty much, except Newcastle. They had Matty Johns and Andrew Johns who won the premiership in 97 and 01. Kimmorley wasn't sorely missed in Newcastle.
  • They were doomed before he arrived. Honestly, any station that has Simon Woolford commentating is in trouble. their supposed "experts" are NSW selector Laurie Daley and Brett Kimmorley. Nine has Wally Lewis, Sterlo and Joey, 2 of the best halfbacks of their era and The King.
  • My opinion is that Kimmorley had an outstanding 1999 season and that's about it. lol

"We won with a similar scoreline against Manly. Manly have lost to us, Titans and Newcastle in the space of a month. If I was a Manly fan id be worried about the spoon just as much as us. They have been bloody ordinary for a while now.
