The crucial games of this year

Every team can point to a few games that have left their team where they are. For fortunate teams like the dogs, it was 3 games in a row that they won by 1 point as well as the calls they got against Parra. No doubt for us, our inconsistency caused by the team we know as "bad Parra" turning up for certain games is the truthful reason for us not being cemented in the 8. But if I throw on the biased hat I'll go with the following moments.1. The DCE lay down against Manly. The penalty turned the game.2. The decisions and goal kicking against the Tigers. (Wish we had played them late in the season)3. The refereeing in that dogs game. Atrocious stuff.4. Toutai's effort against Souths. The blown try was a momentum changer.5. Not turning up in both Knights games.Off the top of my head, I can't think of games won by pure luck or getting dubious ref calls in our favour. But of course I'm wearing the Parra goggles at the moment. So if any of the above moments had not transpired, we would not need the trifecta of events this weekend. We've improved so much this year, but a finals appearance would really signal Parra's resurgence.

  • I think I enjoyed the win against Brisbane in Brisbane the most, early in the year.

The eels intensity was incredible for the entire 80 mins and I knew we were in much better shape than the past few years right there.

I may actually watch that game again today.

The win vs Rorters was good too.

Sorry sixties I thought I would put a couple of positives in ya blog!

    • Couldnt agree more.Sitting there with all the Parra fans go beserk as the Broncos fans headed to the exit was priceless.Being my daughter's 1st game at Suncorp topped it off
    • OH yeah...that Roosters win.

Us wooden spooners, being thrashed by the premiers a few short weeks before.

      What an amazing turn around

Best wow moment for sure and full credit to our new coach waaaay back then!

    • The win against the Feather Dusters occured on my birthday. One of the best birthday pressies I got that day (besides the 'present' my girlfriend gave to me that night :) )

  • manly game
    DCE lying down

plus is getting done for not playing ball facing right way- manly score
    two tackles later.

then manly score two tries in the sets where they played the ball sideways themselves
  • I see bad reffing calls against us all the time. Every game we have.
Just some days we rise above it and stick it to the man.
    And some we don't.
  • No problems with positivity. On a whole the year has been a positive one.
  • This blog is %100 spot on. It's just a pity fans of other teams dont buy it because they just focus on the bad luck stories with their team. As youve pointed out, it is such a fine line to being a finals team in a great position and a team battling to make the finals. Unfortunately everyone just looks at where you finish at the end of 26 rounds and judges you from that. It's been a great turn around this year considering the hard luck events of the year.

  • Makes you wonder where we would have finished on the ladder had we not had Peats out for most of the season.

    • 4th. I seriously believe that we would've made it to 4th or 5th

"Agreed. I won't renew him no matter how well he plays. He was still sketchy yesterday. He is a good impact bench player against tired edges and Moses slipping him balls. "

"Hmmm. The only in would be Moretti for me. Maybe. I'd let him maybe have more time in reggies first. I'd keep Guymer.
So basically, same team. Yes even De Belin. I want De Belin to be in the team first few rounds then things will change IMO. Him…"

"The only change we need to make is Hopgood back to 13 and JDB to 18 man. Not sure why he needs a spot in the squad as he is only practically here for 1 year and really provides nothing more than what Hopgood or Doorey can do for 25min. Walker has…"
