Sadly, once again Hock has been overlooked.
Seriously, Mick Cronin is not only one of the greatest ever Parramatta Eels players, he is one of the all-time great Rugby League players. The Artie Beetson of the backline.
I remember the late, great, Steve Rogers being interviewed about his playing partnership in Test Matches with The Crow. He made comments along the line of how easy it was for him playing outside Mick. All he had to mainly do was to stand & watch while 2 or 3 defenders tried to wrap The Crow up. Then the offload would usually come & off he'd shoot. He also described a training run with the Australian Test team at the SCG. The players were asked to jog up the stairs to the top of the Members Stand, a task which Rogers said The Crow did easily. When they finished at the top, he noticed that Mick was barely even out of breath, even though he had carried Steve up the whole way, piggy-back style.
A Michael Cronin Stand has to be retained as part of the new Parramatta Stadium.

I always thought he was a bit overrated.
1986 probably did that to you. He was probably past it by then. Late 70s early 80s was vintage Cronin.
He would not get put on the ground in a tackle, it was a very rare sight to see Cronin on the ground, he would stand with 2 or 3 players holding on and still manage to pop a pass, slow for a centre but he was all class. You don't make the Australian side while playing in the bush unless you are good, very good.
Snake, obviously he was just a poor man's Lee Oudenryn.
An absolute legend as a player and a man. My first jersey's as a youngster all had number 3 on the back.
I seriously hope his name is as prominent as it was in the old stadium. It would be a travesty if we have to rock up to a blank canvas. The man bleeds blue and gold and was certainly one of the greats of the game. In fact this would make a good submission on the Stage 2 Proposal.
He sat directly behind me, with Peter Mortimer, at the 09 GF, I had a good chat with the pair of them, both top blokes but the Crow was an absolute gentleman.
The CROW is my all time fav eels player
