The Bulldogs have done us a favour

Watching the game it was clear the eels wanted to run the dogs off their feet and not build and play patiently like they have been doing for some weeks with tough grinding games. The Tits game inflated their egos. You could see the loss coming. They thought we can go and win the comp from there!

So the Bulldogs have done us a great favour by getting us to focus and grind out our future wins. Moses is a confidents player. When things are going smoothly he is comfortable and relaxed. I saw his expression when Mau dropped the ball...twice! Mau then went into his shell.

The next two games will see us grind out our wins and I would not be surprised if beat both the Broncos and Manly in succession, even without Brownie.

They train for these scenarios so players know they have to give 120% and lift their games.

Not sure why Teropo does not get a run instead of Tepai. I woudl like to see one our big bopper Juniors get on the bench at least.

So tighten your seat belts because the EELS are coming to get you!

  • Yes that’s the right attitude Dirk . Let’s all get back to positive buzzing we could feel leading up to the Bullfrogs  game !!! GO THE MIGHTY EELS!!!

    • if some of the eels passes land 4 to manu, 3 from cevo,  2 from lane, and a few from blake we dont only win , we win easy by at least 30 poits, i agree the dogs was off side most of the game, also they tackled player before they got the ball.

from kicks they where mts off side many kicks, and there try with gutho's  foot was a foward pass  on tackle 2

we was robbed,, cheated by the ref and dogs no doubt, we will smash the bronco's with our gun fergo back...

  • I thought they were playing like they had already won.trying to score off every play, and they could have if they held the ball a bit more.

  • I am very confident of beating Manly. They embarrassed us at Brooky and we will return seve at Bankwest. As long as Evans and Paulo aim up, our backs will be too classy.

I'm less convinced that we beat the Broncos this weekend. Brocos will be stinging from their loss to the bunnies last weekend and will be really desperate to stay in the 8.

    • Don’t agree.

We’lol do the broncos - did you watch Manly yesterday?

Theyve got the belief that they can beat anyone - hard to beat a side that plays with that belief

      • I did watch parts of the Manly game,  not all of it. However,  one performance does not necessarily translate to the next. That same Manly team turned out a really tired and uninspiring performance against the Warriors only the week beforehand.

I think Parra will be smarting from the mid season shallacking at the hands of Manly and will want to re-assert home ground average at Bankwest. If we lose,  that will be two consecutive home losses. The players will be fuelled by a desire to avoid that.

Finally,  BA has a fantastic record over Hassles and Parra's recent record against Manly has been great too. We seem to like playing Manly.

I'm backing us in for a win in a high scoring game.

    • Eels need to take out Traboyasomeofabitch

  • Yep, Moses needed to control the game better especially in attack, he continue to pass the ball to Manu Ma'u under pressure. At least three time he put Ma'u under pressure and he dropped it everytime.

  • I'm not sure why I haven't been reading about it everywhere, but what was the deal with the Dog's second try? He clearly dropped it and had no control over the ball when it hit the ground but a try was awarded. What are everyone else's thoughts on this "try"?

    • It was a penalty try. Moses came in with the boot, which is apparently illegal. Hence the conversion from the middle.
