I grew up watching the footy in the early 80's and always loved beating the Dogs. They were a great team and they were definitely our main rivals. Add to that the Greg Hartley factor, you knew we'd achieved something big when we beat them.
I respect the Bulldogs as a club. They have been so competitive for a very long time. They have their highs and their lows but they are never far away from premiership contention. The way they continue to rebuild is admirable. For some reason they are able to attract players who want to play for them and love playing for them. It's something I hope we can build into the culture of the Eels club.
Despite my respect and admiration for the Dogs I absolutely love seeing us beat them. Knocking them out of their last 2 finals campaigns has been a highlight for me
Currently in the NRL the Bulldogs under Greenburg are right up there with the best run clubs in the competition, (with the Titans and I would also now add us to this category). I know personally I have been very envious of the way Greenburg had changed the club right around from the way it had been conducting itself for the most part of the decade.
The Dogs no longer have players that people "love to hate" (excluding mick ennis) which I believe has also added to the more positive way the public view them.
Ofcourse there is a decent amount of scum dog supporters, however every club in the competition also has scum equal to these. And to give credit where it is due imo the behaviour of Dogs supporters has improved dramatically over the last 5 years, probably because a lot of the original "scum" supporters have grown to understand the game more and respect it and know longer want to tarnish the NRL's name.
The team(and supporters) I most HATE is........not so(MANLY)!!!
And my most hated team is the ROOSTERS just ahead of the rabbits!! all they can do is go around stealing everyone elses players and than when they pay the big bucks to get the players there the plyers just slack off nd turn shithouse coz they lready gettin all the money they need
Im obviously stereotyping here on a whole but thats how it goes, there is always 1 club you hate for one reason or another. So for me its the dogs cos of their supporters.

You are correct about dog supporters as they do seem to have a lot of young fellas trying to start brawls,but hey they are dogs aren't they!
The main reason I hate teams is because of the rivalry with Parra and also the fact we have a shocking record with the scum.
Manly,saints,broncs,dogs & storm all think they are better than parra but the fact is they play dirty and sly and seem to get the oficials on their side at crucial stages of games and win. Thats the one thing they all have in common,they are experts in twisting the oficials in their favour with their mindgames and over-acting in the play the ball. I might sound like a sore loser but it is a fact because I have seen it happen all to often but I sense it is all gonna change in the near future......Go the mighty EELS!!!
