The Biggest Ambush ?

Are our Eels planning the biggest ambush ever to win the 2020 premiership. To begin the premiership and for a number of weeks post covid the Eels showed their true colours with slick backline plays with second rowers running holes and front row partners Gillard Campbell and Junior Paulo running through brick walls up the middle. Moses and Dylan Brown were showing the rest of the competition a master class in try assists, running to the line, opening second phase play with the  Eels attack leading most points scored. The Eels were considered serious title threats. The tide turned when Moses got injured and Nathan Brown suspended, during this time the Master Coach Brad Arthur came up with his most brilliant plan yet. The Eels would train harder from that point on than any other team, on Defense only. As stated in his latest presser the Eels have done no attacking training for an extended period, only concentrating on defense.
BA's master plan is comming to fruition, other teams, commentators and experts alike are now writing the famous Blue and Gold team off, they believe the Eels are no longer a serious threat, however unbeknown and unsuspecting they are now playing right into Brad Arthurs and his teams plans, leaving each team that makes the semis vulnerable to the masterplanned Eels ambush to win the 2020 title for the first time since 1986. In the comming weeks armed with the best defensive team in the competition the Master Coach will shift tact and reinvigorate the Eels attack, at training concentrating on attack, with pinpoint plans to open the game up with their bustling bookends allowing the dynamic duo Moses and Brown to carve the opposition up, Gutherson and Nathan Brown to pop up everywhere with Blake Furguson celebrating his numerous trys with backflips and Sivo muscling up and putting the foot down with runaway trys. Yes the biggest Ambush is now in play, the competition no longer see us as a real threat, the team has the best defensive record, our key players are fit and healthy, yep the biggest ambush is within sight now, with the Eels raising the premeirship trophy on the last day of the season.

Fact or Fiction - I just hope we get the best attacking coach into our bubble as soon as possible to put the last piece of the puzzle together.

  • Something I have been pondering as well as BA keeps saying we haven't done much with the ball. Defence does win premierships and we have never been known as a defensive side. I suspect that BA is doing just that and keeping the attack fresh...or at least i hope so.

    • Im hoping craz. The alternative i dont like.

  • either that or teams have figured out our structure and are shutting down our 2 set plays rendering us obsolete. I'll go with your theory tho, because I am an optimist.

    • We have been playing deep and wide, the opposition defences are holding their line allowing our plays to unfold making it easy to defend. This is easy to fix, our halves will start straightening and digging into the line forcing defenses to react instead of waiting, this will open holes for our edge forwards and backs. We are going to run up some scores over the remainder of the season.

      • In about two / three weeks we will do just that, if we are to give this title a tilt. Otherwise we may just fall by the wayside again.

When teams around this time start to on their run like the Eels 09 or the Tigers 05. Someone an individual stands up and takes the game on and leads the team by example. Who will it be Gutherson, Moses, Brown , Gillard, Paulo.

        • Won't be D Brown. I think he is struggling to grasp the role of a 6. His kicking, vision and game mangement are ordinary.  Yes i know only 20, fact is he is going backwards.

  • When Bennett was winning comps in Brisbane he was well known for flogging his team in the middle/later parts of the season to get them in great condition but they'd have these flat periods where people woukd question their form - but Bennett woukd taper off the work load and they'd end the year strong.

I wonder if all the defensive work we are hearing about is a really heavy work load?
People writing us off are kidding themselves and let's wait n see how we are going in 5-6 weeks ... just my opinion

  • I hope you are right

  • Moses and Dylan Brown were showing the rest of the competition a master class in try assists"  really???  When did this happen?

Blue eel can you show any evidence of this master class in try assists this yesr?  Statistics show that Brown and Moses are two of the worst performed halves pairing in the comp when it comes to try assists, line breaks and linebreak assists.

The way some carry on about Moses it's as if before he got injured he had the Running game of Steve Mortimer and Phil Blake all rolled into one and the ballplaying skills of Sterling and Johns all rolled onto one so if anyone can show any evidence of this brilliant running and ballplaying  game Moses had before he got injured can you post it?

All Moses has shown this yesr is he still can't perform against the elite sides as his performance against the Roosters showed , and now that his kicks aren't coming off for him he has nothing to offer in attack and the fact parra has had more tackles inside the opposition 20 than any other team and Moses  has done absolutely nothing with it is clear proof.

    • "worst pairing". Yet Moses won dally M half back of the year last year. Where is Parramatta on the ladder? The way you dribble on is absolutely hilarious. Are you an ex Parra employee?
