We've skipped past the one city team, the Broncos and are now breathing down South's neck. The vast legion of Eels fans are slowly coming out of the woodworks. If a premiership was to come, I'm sure we'd be aiming up close to 40.000 members. We've got everything going our way. New stadium, fantastic leagues club, a clean back office and a talented squad. Players will want to come to Parra for unders. We've come a long way from our 2018 wooden spoon.

Go Parra!!!!

  • Yep, even despite the number of pets, toddlers etc who join as members all clubs do the same and it's a real credit to our club and supporters because our membership has grown every year since 2011 and kept rising through wooden spoon years as well.

i think we are amongst the most loyal supporters in the NRL

  • We can't possibly be the most supported club in the league without having held the trophy for 34 years.

Our supporters will no longer stand for failure.

      • Here's a question for you pops: do you think we would have more supporters on board had we won a couple of premierships in the last 20 years?

              • That's an excellent point Pop - memberships are a way of helping the fans feel like they are a part of things, they're actually making a difference and are actually a cog in the machine. It's a very powerfull tool.

If we can win the comp we can get 50k no probs at all.

                • I remember everyone laughed at Ken Edwards when he was CEO saying that the club was targeting 50k members, but I reckon we'll get there in the next decade.

                  • Yeah everyone laughed at the dope because he was saying 50k within the next few years - almost as funny as the two premierships by 2020 prohesised by the stand up comic Seward.

                    • Yes, but the goal itself wasn't the problem, just the lack of a coherant plan on how to get there.

              • Hey Popps - look up our constitution and see if Trotting Ducks are permitted at the Nursing Home - looks like we have a live one here.

Yep - I also approached the club sometime back for Interstae memberships that actually did something for the members to make them feel part of the club.

They did bring out a very expensive offer which inlcuded 1 or 2 entries to Suncorp and Robina when/if we played there during the season.

However I am not forking out my hard earned pension for that sor t of crap. I did the numbers and would have been something like $50 in front by simply buying tickets to any of the games (including travel expenses to same)

I got kids and Grandkids that go to the reject shos (when we were accumulating all our spoons) and they bought me Eels jerseys (including the retro '86 one), caps, towels etc for about $5 - 10 an item.

Wake up Parra you are missing out on having some of the most loyal fans around and you are ignoring us.

Years ago you could but a life membership for around $125.

                • It's never been about what you get our of it Col, it's about being a part of something greater than yourself.

"Don't judge Galvin on this year. Dogs bought him for next year & beyond. They needed to secure him early so he didn't sign elsewhere. I'm just very interested in how they use him in the finals. I agree with Brandy that he's not in the best 17. The…"
