The best year in ages...

This year started out so well, We signed some quality and we're winning games. Could this be the year we at least make the finals? I think so.Then all hell broke out, not like it usually does for Parra, but this was a pandemic breaking down our club from within and out. People were saying we were lowlife cheats, could it get any worse? Yes, it has got worse and even as late as last night our expected savour even handed in his notice. Others are starting to feel pity for us instead or hatred for cheating.Parra legends are saying It's supposed to be the worst year in our history, but I haven't felt like that. Sure I've become numb to the next rumour piece coming from the media, but the team keeps winning.Then it happened, I realised after lasts game why this year, of all years, I cant give up on my team. These guys haven't given up on themselves or me, a fan and have shown up each week with guts and determination.I used to have low to no expectations of our teams performance on the field, thinking about next year and who we might sign. This year, a year where supposedly nothing has gone right, I'm expecting something new for the first time in ages. Im expecting this team to show up every week and win, with guts and an 80min performance.Given previous years, that's all I really wanted from this year anyway and I've kind of been sidetracked by the worst year headlines.This is actually a great year, my team is winning under extraordinary circumstances. I'll admit I'd given up on them at 18-6 down and had given them the old, did you really expect them to win given what just happened. Then like the Phoenix, the team rose to a new level and beat a team who should have won and won easily.Each week I'm learning a bit more about my coach and his team. And I'm enjoying the journey. Can we win the comp? I don't really care, I'm enjoying the journey and so are many other fans.Thanks to BA, coaches and the boys, for one of the best years in a long time.GO THE MIGHTY B&G EELS

TBUR, purely footy wise, this has been our best year in the last 10!! - Count the wins to date & look at our position on the ladder, before the rug's pulled. - Parra has been in a winning position in every game we have played this year. Every game!! - FFS, we threw 3 games away, which would have been easy meat with a full team!! - The facts are, since we were forced to shed Peats & Morgan, letting Paulo go early & Foran having no part in our campaign, apart from the first 2 months of this year Parra has been decidedly undermanned, playing way under the cap, compared to other clubs.

and another thing, last night, when the rooters got to 18 & we were 6, I said to all around me,OK we need 2 converted tries & then a FG, because Parra won't let another point in!! - Not this year's Eels!! - in the end in took 3 tries, but fantastic to be proved right, knowing you can depend on that blue & gold wall again!!

It is our best on field performance for years we where in all games for the majority of them and 2 games we got beaten in the last minute (Penrith, souths). So 10 wins out of 16 games not a bad effort at all hope the boys can keep on winning to prove these hates wrong.

  Plus the game we lost to.Cowboys, Norman was sent to the bin for something that happens in every gamr, against the Sharks we were robbed with the Sharks getting away with murder. I am so proud of these boys.

We had an advantage over the first 9 rounds because we were $500k over the cap. And yet Choc never played and was on $700k.

It's about the same as our treatment in games, everyone talks about the touch Guth might have got on the ball but don't even mention Norman hitting the ground and then being dragged into the in goal area and no penalty. Or Chooks knock on over the line but no 20m tap we have to work it off our line.

Yeah we had a real advantage, we have Choc sitting in the stands all season but counted toward the cap.
