Ok I think I've figured BAs logic on the bench.
BA prepares to play a 3 man rotation with the 17th man a spare for a backbone injury.
I see the logic the problem becomes who takes that spot remembering that its a good chance that person misses out on playing NSW cup that week/match fitness does a player rather play in reserves or sit on the bench without playing?
So who do you pick to be the 17th would Perham/Cartwright/Russell be better playing cup getting some miles in the legs incase they get called up. Do you go Opiciac who is off to super league and is not a player who we have any investmen in his development or a JA who isn't going to complain and is probably happy for the experience.
Personally I'd rotate the spot between Perham and Russell.
Long story short I think I'm seeing the plan not sure I agree but I think its there. I'd still like to see Kafuasi and Makatoa rotated out to Reggie's and give Greig and Ogden some 1st grade minutes just incase they are needed later in the year.

I've never heard of a "backbone" injury in league @offside, is that related to the spine 167 and 9 Offside. ?
Back line bloody phones
Yeah, I can't see why we play a 3 man rotation. The game is tough enough as it is - so when you have the ability to rotate your forwards with a potential bench of 3 genuine forwards and a genuine utility who can play in the backs or forwards, why deliberately disadvantage yourself?
Bennett used to do it some years ago but he's since seen the light and uses his four interchange players throughout the match.
I don't understand the 3 man rotation either. Making middles play longer minutes?
BA simply likes to keep interchanges under his belt, using the 7th and 8th changes as one off changes, Rodwell always comes on and stays on so it does not waste an interchange.
He always has Paulo and RCG starting, then both come off, then one comes back on after 10min stint. Not a fan of that way of doing it as i like the half-time break to be used to our advantage.
If BA keeps up with this stupid plan with the bench he is going to burn our forwards out before we even get to the finals.
EXACTLY what he did last year, Jnr n Reg were fucked by aFinals
Not supporting the way he does but starting to understand why its opiciac and Jacob instead of a proper utility I feel he's tempting fate with it but
His use of the bench is the worst in the NRL.
Picking someone 'just in case' of injury is stupid. We have Niukore who can cover centre and that is all we need.
We should be doing all we can to preserve Paulo and Reg if either of them goes down our season is done.
I can't believe Paulo is being made to back up this week after Origin and we are carrying JA on the bench. We already have Matto out If ever we needed to have 4 forwards on the bench it is this week to give Paulo as much rest as possible. N Brown should be there. He played ok last week I thought.
The bench logic. There is none.
