The Appreciation Thread - Mannah and Robson

Big wrap to these guys on tonight's and recent performancesFirstly to Mannah, this guy is a machine, just when you think the defence has stopped him he is able to make another 5 metres just through sheer will power and strength and leg drive. He is only a young one but has definately matured into a very good player, he is the perfect replacement for Fui. Even though he may not have the "run over the top of defenders" trait he definately knows how to keep those legs movingKeep it up MannahNow to Robson, this guy is so underrated its not funny. Okay some of you say he hasn't got the kicking game to be a dominant half back, well to be honest I don't think he needs to have it with Moritmer at his side. What Robson brings to the team is a never say die attitude that is shown through his tackling and his organisational skills which has been essential to the roll on that our forwards get. He tried a few things tonight like the dummy and run which almost came off for him, but he deserved the try he got with great support play. I was never a big fan of Robson, but over the past weeks I have slowly been putting my feet onto the band wagon.Keep it up Robson

  • i love the way mannah plays. defo a future rep star. i agree with you on the leg drive.

robson, im a fan to a certain degree but KK is better. but you've gotta take your hats off to robbo
  • Robson is solid at best, pushed a couple of passes tonight. Definately seems to fit in well with the dynamic of the team at the moment though. Our kicking game has been better than I have seen in years, we have 3 options now which takes the pressure off.
  • agree RealEel, hayne as that extra option is now a 40/20 threat, and can really pin the defence back on their line with his penetrating kicks
  • how strong were those 40/20 kicks struck.
  • ooo they were struck sweetly, the defence had no chance
  • I think Robson compliments Morts/Hayne very well. KK is throwing another attack-orientated player into the fray, and it COULD lead to havoc. No matter what, I think we have enough points in Morts and Hayne to keep the roll going until next season.
  • tonight Mortimer was a bit quiet to me, a few half breaks not a major impact, overwhelmed by such a big occasion?
  • yeah, morts was quiet, but still got the job done
  • Robson and Mannah are two of my very favourite players! Great blog! :-)

Mannah is still so young, and with the mentoring of Cayless he appears to have really stepped up. He can only improve. Also, as I have mentioned before, he wears Eels underpants - now that is loyalty!

Robson also deserves a real pat on the back. For a man who at the beginning of the season was our third choice halfback to step up the way he has has been remarkable. He organises, is a great little defender and puts in 100 per cent each week. He is a good, solid consistent player and after all the criticism both he and DA copped for his inclusion in our side, he has perservered. I was so plased to see him get over the line last night!
  • robson for halfback of the year lol
