I understand the rhetoric after these last two losses, but everyone seems to be saying in hindsight that we should have seen this happening and the administration from Coach to Chairman should have known better……
Well prior to the Tigers game and say Moses injury, everyone was pretty happy, we looked good and were unlucky not to be 3-0 going into Tiges.

What happened, only those inside will know the real story. This disaster emerged from no where in two weeks!

I would be surprised to think anyone of us fans would actually know and what hindsight does tell us is that fans never do know the real story. Could losing Moses be that dislocating, we lost him last year with not quite the ramifications…..yes it is a large factor notwithstanding.

Well what is it?, what actually changed apart from the Moses/Carty injuries fallout. Carty being a late addition considering where he has come from but a real issue just the same.

I would not trust the media to know and they will only cause damage. The question is does Parra have someone within their structure to get to the bottom of anything. The board seems impotent and leadership zero…..I doubt that Bernie Gurr would be quiet at the moment.

I am going to say that Jim Saratinos is completely out of his depth at being the CEO of a NRL Club. He is probably a brilliant mind in his own field as an accountant or receiver but he is one dimemsional when it comes to his current role. He has done his job. He needs to go to finish it by making the sacrifice!

Unless someone within the board is seeing this and prepared to act on it, we are going no where. Hopefully that person is Jim himself or the Chairman who also lacks any presence of authority.

Decisions that need to be made on coaching, head of football and the R&R are sitting there going nowhere……Jim needs to make way…..just be a director on the board Jim, but get someone capable of managing a football club……..maybe he is in front of you and you dont understand that that you hold the key to fixing the problem.

  • In hindsight lol,

Many fans including myself were questioning why there was a lack of back up halves. It's not rocket science.

It's absolutely falls on ba and o'neill to have cover for Moses, they are ultimately accountable and it's unacceptable.  Our outside backs situation with lack of speed and skills is also on Brad and O'Neil,.   Oust both of them asap

    • Chief you maybe right, but if so it would be the first time and your credibility with its built in biases is about as blind as a white ant in a coalmine. Anyone can jump out and scream, trying being constructive so that we can understand what your screaming about. Do you ignore the squeak when your wheels spin?

    • Well.... he did kinda have a replacement for Moses that meant we wernt getting pumped into oblivion every week or losing to the joke of the league, but some thought the kid was blocking the next Andrew John's getting a start. The kid could tackle and the kid could kick. He was also good at getting over the line without leaving the ball behind and throwing passes to people in the right location. His errors were very fucking minimal. He was slow as fuck  , but he was safe as houses where it counted. So far Blaise is horrible and Sanders got a half shot and pooped his pants. BA used JA because he could quite obviously handle the pressure before he was totally ready for NRL  , the two kids aforementioned can't. Should we have to use a kid like JA ? Hell no , was he the best option at the time ( and now if we still had him ? Fuck oath ( unfortunately).

The coach doesn't balance the salary cap , nor do the recruiting. He will give the names of players he'd like us to try to recruit and it's someone else's job to get that player(s) if the cap and negotiating skill allow it.

Now.. I'm not giving the coach a free pass, he's flawed in many aspects , and should be wearing as much blame as the players and admin team, but let's ensure we are leveling the blame evenly and the correct pegs in the correct holes.

  • I was waiting for poppa's blog to tell us he's right and we're all wrong. He didn't disappoint.

    • at least he makes a contribution. When was the last time you posted a blog about anything ?

      • Thanks Sluggy, Am I hearing right that on this forum someone was waiting to tell them something that is right and everyone else is wrong? Bob Smith where have you been son.....mind you I am complemented, I don't think anyone else was waiting for my blog!

      • I don't post blogs.

        • I know you don't post blogs and I'm not disappointed

  • Yeah true about how the first 3 weeks it was looking good then all of a sudden it is season over in two weeks. Same as how first three weeks BA's name was not under a cloud too much, now is on the hot seat after two losses. What has made it worse is how he called them out and they responded to that by playing worse.

Get to Saturday, let's say by some miracle we win, a lot of us are licking our wounds on abusing this squad, me included. They were embarrassed on Sunday and it will be fascinating to see how they respond now to the best attacking team in the comp.

As for Sarantinos, i do agree. Seems like a nice guy, maybe great with business and money and might be great on the board, but as a CEO involved with League he is not ready at least for the role and hasn't grown into the role. The club might need that big figurehead. I can only imagine this lot with Bennett at the helm, most of them will be in for a rude shock of how things should be.

But as for BA, i have said for a while it might be better for both parties to part ways. Better for Parra to move onto something new and better for BA to go somewhere new. Imagine BA at a club like GC before Hasler. It would suit him to get a club and make them relevant again like he did Parramatta.

    • Good post LB, you put what I was trying to say into a clearer perspective.

On the subject of BA, I think the guy needs a rest. If he said he was having a break (take yours Mrs for a world trip Brad) I don't think it would take long before some other clubs chased him. Use your break to take a tour of the US and UK scenes, get a feel for 7 's rugby and learn about "speed".
