Hi all. Yesterday I was driving along West of Brisbane and came across a Bakery that had some reputation for its Meat Pies ( Fernvale Bakery ) and it got me thinking that nearly most places geographically have somewhere that at the very least has local infamy for it's regular punter food offerings. I am interested to hear from the other 1EE members of a go to place that is either in their area or somewhere they will make a special trip to when they happen to be within a reasonable distance too. Now I am not interested in a Michelin starred joint that has the best Goose Froie Gras that you've ever eaten. I wanna know about the regular take-away joints, Bakeries, Pizza joints etc etc that have local or wider infamy for something it serves up (i.e Best Burgers, Best Fish and Chips, Best Pizza etc etc) that has locals and visitors alike lining up for a feed.

Only ever had one pie there, and I was not that impressed. But everyone does say they are pretty good. Maybe I was there on the wrong day.
HEATHERBRAE PIES. The original is West Newcastle. Corner Pacific Highway & Masonite Road (Raymond Terrace Roundabout)
However, they put one in Sutton Forrest a couple years back and stop there every time we are coming home to Canberra.
The pies and snot blogs are divine.
HEATHERBRAE PIES. Sutton Forest Service Centre, Hume Highway, East Side
I'm surprised Vince, you come across as a cream pie loving boy
The snot blocks are pretty good, but I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of their pies.
Patsy this makes me hungry, but here on the Central Coast; Kens Humble Pie shop at The Entrance...the best Pies i have had, and I am a chunky beef / curry beef guy, and beef Pastie too. He also makes a mean Profterrole and Pastry. He is right down near the water at The Entrance.
There was also a good one at Kurrajong Hts called Pie in the Sky; they did superb pies too just before Bilpin from the Richmond side.
Yes they about $5-$5.50 i think but compare that to a pie at the footy......
