That Rugby Player

I won't even try and pronounce his name but how have the NRL allowed the Roosters to register him. If it had been Parra we would have got knocked back. 1st thing Parra needs is some senior management with some gravitas like Politis and Ponissi to start getting some influence at NRL HQ

    • I'm sure there's meant to be a "q" in there somewhere

      • There is but it's pronounced like Waqa. The "q" has an "ng" sound.

  • Yeah how is that possible? I realise they have injuries but they have Billy Smith and Michael Jennings to play. This is so weird. Didn't we get knocked back a few years back (could be more, I'm old) trying to play someone when we had injuries and the nrl told us who in our top 30 was still available and we were forced to play an out of form player.

    • I think it was when we were trying to get rid of Sandow from memory. This NRL administration flip flops on rules all the time

    • Billy Smith just got back from injury last week after only playing 1 NSW Cup game early in the year. I remember the rumours of when he was talking with BA to come here. Had that happened surely his management would have arranged for him to be rolled in wrapped in bubble wrap or a box filled with styrofoam and foam peanuts.

The bloke would break his nose breathing slightly different.

    • Mate there was some shonky shit allowed here by the NRL. He was still playing 7s at olympics after the deadline. They also somehow got him approved under the salary cap. So an international rugby player was probably allowed to be signed for a pie and a coke per game

      • That's the point. Signed before the June 30 deadline sure, but not available for selection because he was playing another code at the Olympics.

        sheesh.

        • Good on the Roosters for getting it done. Shame on the NRL for allowing it. Absolutely made a mockery of its own rules but no one in the media will say shit

        • For a few years now clubs have been able to sign players from other sports after the deadline,  the roosters didn't get special treatment.

"Agree Mutts, lacks a bit of that speed and agility to be great at Wing and Center.
If he continue's his defensive work he could be an agile edge, but would probably be a backup at best."

"I think they will partner up JAC and Kelly for the next 2 years and get that combination humming.
The right is isn't as clear, but it really depends on how bad Simonnson's ankle is. I would expect Penisini and Simmon to lock down the right for most…"
