RENI MAITUA will show his gratitude to Parramatta for giving him a second chance by letting a former US special forces soldier bash him into shape at a remote training camp in the Thai jungle.

The 28-year-old former international, who'll return in May from a two-year suspension for testing positive to the steroid clenbuterol, faces a tough seven months because he's forbidden to train with a NRL club or a conditioner associated with the code until the ban expires.

  • Well at least he's going to be built like a brick shithouse, haha.

IMO he's going to be such a massive contributor to our game. Motivation and a sense of urgency is what Mateo lacked. He was at some times lazy, which a lock should never be!

It's pretty idiotic not to let him TRAIN with us, that's abit pathetic...
  • Reni RAMBO!!!!....
  • He will be fit, however match fitness only comes from playing footy, tackling, been tackled. After two years out it is going to take him sometime to find his feet.
  • The best thing about Maitua next year is that he is going to have something in his psychology that can't be bought or trained - desperation. The guy is obviously desperate to make amends and make good on his 2nd chance and make up for lost time. You can't put a price on that quality.
  • I thought it was a respiratory drug to help you breathe better? Giving you abit more endurance?
  • He will be getting personal training with league somehow, just because they can't use 1st grade coaches and trainers, doesn't mean there isn't anyone else to help him out. Well hopefully lol.

I was right, I'm pretty sure I have used it myself for my asthma.

Clenbuterol (Spiropent, Ventipulmin) is a sympathomimetic amine used by sufferers of breathing disorders as a decongestant and bronchodilator. People with chronic breathing disorders such as asthma use this as a bronchodilator to make breathing easier. It is most commonly available as the hydrochloride salt clenbuterol hydrochloride.

Wow your right, it bloody does everything! lol
  • It's good to see that he remains 100% committed to the cause, and entirely committed to ensuring that his second chance in the NRL is just as good as his first stint.
It's great to see the determination and drive that he has, and that he's willing to go through the pain barrier in the Thai jungle
Should be good to see Reni in action.
  • Here's hoping Reni is the good feel story of 2011 and returns better than ever. Man, I'll be cheering behind him all the way.
