Teamsheet: Smith returns to centres

Official Team Announcement follows: PIRTEK Parramatta Eels utility player Ben Smith will return to his original position in the centres to cover for the injured Ryan Morgan (ankle) for the away clash against Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park this Sunday. Smith played the second half of last Sunday's clash against North Queensland Cowboys at right centre after Morgan left the field. Casey McGuire will make a timely return from a calf injury to fill in for dog bite victim Matt Keating at hooker with Anthony Mitchell to pair with him from the bench. The only other change is Fuifui Moimoi returning to the 17 from a one-week suspension. He goes onto the bench with Justin Horo shuffling into the starting line-up in the lock position Smith held last week against the Cowboys. • Gotta be the biggest centre to ever play for Parra surely
  • Carl Webb + Fui Fui!!!! Cannot wait
  • That would have to be the best bench in the comp
  • Loko hasn't been named in the U20's side - is that an indication that he's playing for Wenty this week 1 Eyed?
Didn't seem injured to me last week at the completion of the U20's clash.
  • Theory: Loko conspicuous absent from NYC. What odds if McGuire doesn't make it, Loko comes onto the bench.
  • Hehe, we're thinking along similar lines Ricky. I've not heard of him having picked up any injury.
  • Odds would be very high ,Loko in for Mcquire does not make sense as we need a back up hooker IMO if casey does not play it will be Billy Rogers.
  • that shows steven kearneys true class

a lot of people were thinking of putting people from 20s and nsw cup to replace others

    e.g. loko, rogers etc

kearney just stuck with the same squad - if it aint broken dont fix it

  • It does if you use Robson as Hooker (either start or shift him midway through the match to give Ant a rest) and push Hayne up into the six, and there's a bit of a backline shuffle to accomodate. I ask you to consider why you would promote him to Wentworthville this week, when you already have Walker, Whatuira, Hicks and Atkins in that side.

Loko was outstanding by all reports last week for NYC and it will surprise me if he keeps producing that kind of form that Loko isn't given a shot. Billy Rogers is an interesting suggestion.

    • This gets me a bit excited:

      1. Burt 2. Loko 3. Reddy. 4. Smith 5. Uaisele 6. Hayne 7. Mortimer
