Teamsheet R5: Burt and Smith back

Official club announcement:

Pirtek Parramatta Eels welcome back injured stars

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels welcome back injured stars Luke Burt and Ben Smith this week for their game against the Canberra Raiders on Monday, April 12, at Parramatta Stadium.

Returning from knee and ankle injuries respectively, Burt and Smith add more experience to the Eels’ line-up as they look to improve on the slow start to the season.

Krisnan Inu and Justin Horo have been named on an extended bench.

Burt has not played since his 200th first-grade match against the Sea Eagles in Round 2 and coach Daniel Anderson believes the inclusion of two more experienced players in the side will be a factor in turning around last week’s loss to the Sharks.

“Luke Burt and Ben Smith will be worthy inclusions to the team as a couple of seasoned players added to the side,” he said.

“We’re going through a bit of a rough trot so having those guys back in the team will add some stability to the side.”

  • Seriously, how much time do you give the Robson/Mortimer halves pairing?

Time to bite the bullet and start Keating methinks.
  • DA is a very patient man. Time will tell. I'm happy burt & Smith are back. Robson & mateo should consider themselves lucky to be in the starting 13.
  • Where is Tim Auremi? He was meant to be the Messiah of the Toyota Cup team.
  • Brendan Oake and Justin Horo are not first grade footballers.. Geez we really dont have much depth in the forwards when someone gets injured.. Really like the look of Pat O'Hanlon from Toyota Cup.. Looks like a real good talent..
  • Interesting to note Karl Filiga has made the bench for Wenty, he's slowly getting closer to being in contention for a first grade spot
  • I hope you are not serious, how many match Horo played so far?
  • According to 1eyedeel he got some back problem, we might not see him ever.
  • Pele injured it would seem
    • Injured or a smoky for the 1st grade side.
  • Did you not watch the weekend game?
