Teamsheet R2: Oake in for Shackleton

Brendan Oake will take over Shane Shackleton's position on the bench, while Joel Reddy has been returned to the squad at the expense of Kris Inu who has again been named on an extended bench.

Coach Daniel Anderson said in a statement that Shackleton's injury was "devastating' but opened the door for local junior Oake.

"It's a great opportunity for him as he has not played first grade since Round 11 last year so I'm looking forward to his contribution to the team," Anderson said.

  • Pretty much as expected... I wonder if Inu will again be a last minute replacement for Reddy, and if not, I hope his hammy holds up alright.

I think we'll belt Manly on Sunday.
  • No surprise there, hopefully Oake will play like Lowrie did last year.
  • I'm looking for Oakey to be really aggressive in his defence. I think that a strong element of Lowrie's game and I think Brendan, despite being a smallish forward has a good hit on him.
  • Apparently he muscled up in the trials, yeah? It might not be too much for him, hopefully he takes this opportunity and steps up.
  • Does Oake offer much in attack?
    • IMO he is more skillful than Lowrie. I have watched (on fox)5/6 wenty games last year he was standout for pretty much all of them.
    • Yeah, he is pretty agressive. Remember the break and try assist against the Broncos last year where he ran over the top of one K.Hunt
  • I would'nt be surprised to see Kris k drop off the bench, Inu to take his spot.

Inu was good last week for us, can't see him being dropped for Kris Keating
  • Does anyone know the team sheet for manly?
  • I would be
