  • so this game is going to be live on nbn i take it
  • A much better balanced side with the workaholic backrow and the explosive bench. We had to use our explosive forwards too early and for too long on Sunday. Inu has to have a question mark hovering over him, a hamstring tear is normally a 2 week injury minimum
  • When I look at our bench I worry that we are 1 prop short against a physical side like the Dragons. Hope I'm wrong!
    • joe galuvao pretty much plays like a prop forward any way. Around origin time not sure who it was but they said a teams bench needed to consist of:
      - 1 utility
      - 1 prop forward,
      - 1 2nd row forward
      - 1 foward who can play prop or 2nd row

      We have:
      - Kevin Kingston (utility but mainly hooker)
      - Tim Mannah (prop forward)
      - Feleti Mateo (2nd row/lock and also a utility)
      - Joe Galuvao (2nd row and can move to prop)
  • One thing I don't agree with Ando, why is Lowry starting lock??? I would like to see Mateo as starter at lock and Lowry on the bench
    • I think Feleti has to fix up his defence before he wins a spot back in the starting side.

The good news is Feleti has now had two matches with big minutes so he should be pretty close to be back to his best fitness wise.
  • I think Mateo will start the game. He was our best player on Friday by a fair way, he really troubled the Dragons with his bullocking runs and offloads, our start in this game is imperitive so it just makes sense to start with your best players. The question is who does he come into the starting team for?

I personally would love to See 11. Hindy 12 Smith 13. Mateo, however there is no point starting Lowrie on the bench because he is a solid toiler not an impact player. It would be fine to start him off the bench if you were going to use him to replace a similar hard working player like hindy, however Hindy is the Heart of the team and needs to be on the field for 80.

I assume Benny Smith will move to the bench with Lowire moving to the second row and Mateo to Lock. Imo Benny can be just as effective coming off the bench as he lifts the tempo in defence and can be used as a wide-running second rower.
  • I was of the same opinion as to why Mateo was not in the starting lineup!! I think alot of it comes down to Match Fitness!!

My guess he will probably be released around 25 min mark when fatigue starts to set in and the Dragons are getting tired!!

This match will be played at Origin pace and I think if DA has a game plan it may revolve around fast play the balls and scoots from Dummy half, Players like Moi Moi and Mateo will be best served off the edge of the ruck targeting Soward's suspect defence

I think we will have a better chance at wearing down Dragons pack than trading blow for blows with them straight up the midlle!!
    • You gunna have to travel a long way to find Soward on Sunday, I reakon they will have him in handshake distance from Morris to help save his sorry ass from Big Fui.
  • Interesting to see both brod & jonathon wright have not been named for wenty. Does that mean they are 18th & 19th men to cover for injuries to the top 17.
